What do the people at YOUR lunch table eat?

Quote  |  Reply

I'm the only healthy eater at my table, so what they eat at lunch truely disgusts me. This one girl will eat fried chinese noodles(the ones you put on salads) with duck sauce, then a nutella sandwich. this other girl will bring in boxes of donuts, and finish them at lunch. and this guy will buy 4-5 BIG cookies, two soft pretzels, a high calorie drink and a poop load of other-bad-for-you stuff

so now that you've heard mine, what do people at YOUR lunch table eat?

We usually eat fast food not going to lie. I had 7 double cheeseburgers for lunch today. Itz k cause i burn them calories like no tommorow.

my friends usually just get what the cafeteria is serving that day, some examples are:

-breaded chicken sandwich, pizza, cheesesteak, chicken parm, cheesy pizza sticks, huge subs, cheeseburgers, bagels, or ravioli (which is disgusting)
-they ALWAYS get french fries on the side no matter what the lunch is
-plus cookies
-with soda or snapple

and one of my skinniest friends usually gets 2 packs of cookies (there's 2 cookies in a pack). when i buy lunch i usually get a big soft pretzel because those are my weakness, or soup, or a grilled chicken salad.

i bring my own healthy lunch, and so does another girl. but then my other friend who brings lunch has her mom pack it for her, so it usually includes a sandwich, chips or cheez-its, and some type of candy or cookies (the other day it was skittles, the next it was 3 m&m cookies, then the next day a huge brownie)

and my friend who gets the 2 packs of cookies also eats snacks in the morning before lunch, things like a bag of cheez-its or 2 packages of those peanut butter crackers with a gatorade.

but we're all in the thin-to-average range. all healthy weights.

Almost all unhealthy eaters :)

Mmm dysfunctional eating in my group..

I can't ever remember bringing in a set lunch to college for two tears, My time table was gappy so I wasn't really there for lunch, I just brang in a snack like a yogurt or fruit, or ate at home, I disliked bringing in food. But my friends used to have things like Sandwichs, crisps, fruit, chocolate, then mainly water as a beverage. There timetables wern't as gappy as mine so they brang things in. They were all within a normal looking weight range.

Well Im out of school but I work and my friends go to college. But this is a norm for them.

You know the heights and weights of all your friends, plus what they eat everyday!!? I think this thread proves how much calorie counting can become a huge part of all of our lives and what we think about alot of the time. Am I the only one that finds this slightly weird...

friend 1= tall, lanky, slim, the long legs and arms: eats yogurt, baked chips, twix or fruit rollup

friend 2= healthy weight, has some meat on her: pasta w. butter, fries or potato puffs, twix or fruit rollup, pb&j sammies, chips, stuff like that

friend 3= overweight: bagel sammies w/ cream cheese or lunch meat and mayo, fries, everyone elses food, muffins

friend 3= good weight, has some meat on her but long legs: pizza, soda, fruit rollups, chips

friend 4= a little chunky but healthy: lunch meat sammies, chips, cookies, diet soda, twix, grapes

id say im the healthiest eater at the table along with friend 1 :)

Yea, but I' ve been obsessed with weight and calories from I was 15. I dont think it's weird...maybe because I've been like this so long.

N = I would saw slightly overweight but built in a way where she carries it very well and looks very attractive: grilled cheese and fries or pizza and fries with a regular soda

B = very healthy body, perfect weight with muscle tone: 2 cup salad bar container with beans, lettuce, veggies, and grilled chicken - no dressing. Iced tea. Very healthy eater.

D = tall, thin = chobani greek yogurt and granola with 1 pint skim milk. every meal. always yogurt and cereal. sometimes she gets a cookie.

C = slightly underweight: it varies, she definitely likes food and she likes GOOD food. Sometimes she gets deli sandwiches or soups because she doesn't trust the dining hall food (which she's right to). When we're out to dinner she always has the most interesting orders

E = slightly overweight: you can tell she tries very hard. Sometimes she'll get a "to-go" sandwich like turkey on multigrain or a "peanut butter spinner" which is very healthy sounding but is actually 1000 calories (wrap with peanut butter, banana, granola, and jelly - easy to wrack up calories). Sometimes she'll just get an apple.

Me = slightly overweight/healthy weight with a little pudge: same as B minus the grilled chicken. I don't eat meat. I get tofu instead.

I'm in college, so the options are limited to begin with. I usually eat with a bunch of guys who basically eat anything and everything, so I'm just going to stick with the girls.

L=skinny. She's the only one who doesn't come to the dining hall with us regularly and usually eats sushi and granola bars-and lots of it. But when she does, she usually gets fish if it's available or pasta if it isn't, and ALWAYS gets a side of fries and a brownie for dessert.

H=average/on the thinner side. Usually a plate of pasta and a bowl of cereal, and a cookie for dessert.

C=average/athletic. She's an intense track runner, and a very picky eater. She usually gets pizza and pasta, along with either fish or a burger and eats no more than half of each before she gets sick of it. But she almost always gets a cookie or ice cream for dessert.

A=average/a little bigger, but she's also 5'10. it varies. she eats the widest variety out of all of us. usually she'll go for whatever panini is available, or she'll get creative and make her own sandwiches and meals out of whatever is there. she usually gets a salad as well, and some sort of cake or cookie for dessert. she eats a lot but she's also bigger than us (much taller) and she works out regularly and takes care of herself.

Me=average/on the thinner side. I always get slack for being too healthy. I usually get grilled chicken with a salad consisting of virtually every vegetable at the salad bar (which i also get made fun of) and chick peas, no dressing, and fruit salad for dessert. Occasionally I'll get some ice cream (which I actually think is really frozen yogurt, they just call it ice cream) or sometimes a cup of marshmallows when they have them by the hot chocolate, but very rarely.

How much people at my lunch table eat has jack to do with how skinny they are, I've noticed.

Friend one: Overweight, but beautifully and proportionately, with the most insane hourglass I've ever seen. Eats a giant muffin and some kind of gormet ethnic food from varying ethnicities, a chewy granola bar, and a kudos bar. Has started packing for everyone else at the table since we steal from her anyway.

Friend two: Extremely vain, somewhat skinnyfat, only eats what she snatches off the people around her, and sometimes doesn't eat at all. We worry about this one.

Friend three: "Outstandily average" in her own words. Has a bit of flab, but not unhealthy in either direction. Steals from friend one. Usually gets the insane "leftover pizza" our cafeteria is known for. They basically put whatever we had yesterday on bread with cheese and sauce and hope we don't notice. Come on, lasagna pizza is just redundant.

Friend four: Overweight, laughs at it whenever anyone points it out, and is just fine with it. Skips lunch for cigarettes most of the time.

Friend five: Somewhat skinny teenage boy. Doesn't eat lunch, calls himself fat, and is extremely gay. He's not losing weight and steals food at times, so there's no risk of an eating disorder.

Me!: Average/working on that. I don't eat lunch, shame on me, for a bunch of reasons. I never really have, I guess. I'm usually dancing around the table singing show tunes with friend two or being sexually harassed by friends one and five.

I only have two co-workers, but one is totally doing a yo-yo thing.

1. Usually eats chicken salads, soup, animal crackers, biscuits, etc. She's very thin except for some belly flab from giving birth.

2. Constantly complains that she's gigantic when she's not, goes on multiple binge diets. One week she only eats apples, the next healthy choice, then fries and a hamburger. She'll constantly go on about how she needs to loose weight, when she's very thin.

Mostly everyone at my table eats NOTHING except this one dude C.

ME - Packet of oatmeal. (I make another meal when I get home)

BOB - Skittles.

JEN - "Uncrustable" PBJ sandwhich.

C -2 Spicy Chicken Burgers, 2 Vitamin Waters, Bag of pretzels, 2 Bosco cheese sticks, HEAVILY Frosted Chocolate Cake.

No one at my college has an *exact* diet, they all vary quite a lot... But I can give you an idea! And, cos I've got way too much time on my hands, I'll calculate the amount of calories in each...

ME - salad sandwich on wholemeal bread or a vegetable wrap, apple/banana, and a 2 finger kitkat if I have a full day! It normally comes to 300-400 calories.

Friend 1 - normally pasta with cheese sauce, or chips (fries), plus a yorkie bar and maybe a cookie...  700-900 calories

Friend 2 -  green tea, hummus wrap and 2 digestive biscuits, she's a healthy vegetarian (like myself, but minus the chocolate addiction!). 350 calories

Friend 3 - ham and cheese panini, plus a yorkie bar or a cookie... 600-700 calories

Friend 4 - cheese and crackers, or a cheese and grape sandwhich, plus some form of chocolate and a hot drink (usually hot chocolate) 600 calories

Friend 5 - 6'0, probably a little underweight but that's not for lack of trying, he's attempting to beef up at the moment - 2 meal deals (sandwich, crisps, coca cola),  2 bars of chocolate, can of cream soda, and then maybe a banana or two. 1700 calories!!! and I know his mum makes him massive 3 course meals at night...

Most of the rest of my friends have enough frees daily to jump in the car and go to subway/the chinese restaurant/McDonalds, or they go to the local chippy, so I don't really know what the rest of them eat usually...

The crazy thing is that, if I were to estimate, I'd put friend 5's BMI at around 18-19, yet he packs away that amount during the day and is ALWAYS moaning about how hungry he is! Crazy...

(FYI, a yorkie bar is a large chocolate bar that is 330 calories... I don't know if you have them in the states? cant remember seeing one over there!)

Oh, most of my friendies eat soo bad! :D

Jimeeze (5'3, Thin)- School lunch, rice krispie, bag of doritos, 2 poptarts
Lauren (5'0, Chubby)- Cheese puffs, leftover dinner, 2 poptarts, crystal light punch

Darlene (5'0, Chubby)- Bag of cheetos, 2 poptarts, chocolate milk

I don't know exact weights and heights for most of them but I'll do my best lol.

Kaylee: (191lbs, 5'7): Go Ahead Yoghurt breaks; chocolate bar; bag of crisps; two oranges; an apple or pear; water and sometimes hot chocolate or pudding type thing from the school. (This one 'claims' she's on a diet but never tries to make a healthy option instead of junk and then drinks several normal hot chocolates each night. Though I'm not really one to judge on healthy eating)

Becky: (Normal/skinny and 5'5ish) Nothing/a square or two of chocolate/cake or pudding from school dinner queue. (She normally gets a chocolate bar after school too.)

Fay: (Normal/skinny, 5'3) A chocolate bar; a bag of crisps; bottle of coke. Sometimes she also gets a cake or pudding from school.

Rochelle: (140-150lbs(?) 5'5) Two or three bags of chocolates or sweets; a cereal/chocolate bar; cheese sandwiches/school baguette thing; huge muffin/cake; whatever else she can get people to buy for her/share with her.

Hannah: (168lbs, 5'4) Full school dinner (varies); two desserts; two or three chocolate bars; a bag of Haribo; diet coke; an apple or peach.

Katherine: (120lbs, 5'4/5) Two cheese sandwiches; grapes/apple; bag of crisps; chocolate bar/biscuits; squash/water.
