stretch marks?

Quote  |  Reply
Hey guys! So I've had stretch marks even before I lost any weight and my doc says they were from gaining weight too fast or something. I've been chubby since i was little and just recwntly lost a good amount of fat (still not at my goal) but my stretch marks are still there! Will they ever go away or is there anything I can do to make em go away?

If any discovers anything let me know!! I personally only have one very small one but my sister has A TON and she would love to know a solution; I as well heard maderma works!!:)
If you find anything that really works, tell me! I've always had stretch marks on my love-handles and have just obtained my first stretch mark on my stomach which scares me!

Honestly, I don't ever expect mine to go away. I'm actually proud of them in a way. I think of them more like battle scars. When my body is finally down to a healthy weight, those marks will tell what I've been through in stronger language than I can ever use.

This mindset came about when I saw a picture that technically related to pregnancy stretchmarks. "Your body is not ruined, you are a tiger who earned her stripes." Those of us who have had to work towards having a great body will appreciate it. I want to be able to be the beautiful tiger I see underneath, proudly showing my stripes to the world. I even plan to tattoo a real stripe over them one day for every 10lbs I lose.

Odesseygurl, I like the way u thinkš?? ya I guess I should just get over them. In sure once I have a flat fit stomach I won't care about a few marks on my sides.
I have stretch marks too! I'm trying to find a cream because they get itchy out of no where sometimes
I used to have stretch marks, not extremely bad but quite bad and now theyre barely visible (you can never get rid of stretch marks but they can fade) I live in the uk and bio-oil is amazing for stretch marks, scars etc. it is quite expensive but works a treat I could notice the difference after a couple of weeks putting it on in the morning and evening xxx I hope this helps xxx

I had terrible, awful stretch marks for years as a teenager from gaining weight too quickly, and they honestly caused me to swaddle up my body for years because they were so bad. Once I started to stop gaining weight they faded into my skin tone after a manner of a year or so. And despite mine being a bad case I'm in my early twenties now and they are only visible if you look incredibly closely. Basically I think you can use these treatments to expedite the scars fading, but if your young and don't go through another rapid weight gain they will fade naturally with time and moisturizers.

Ahhh, if you find a solution please let us know! I have so many stretch marks, it's awful. They're all over my back, arms, and legs.... oh, and my lovehandles. Haha it's a good thing I'm not allowed to wear shorts or show much skin, it's not very pleasant :P

Odysseygurl, you have a beautiful perspective. :) Okay, so guys, have stretch marks on my thighs and I don't mind them but I don't really understand them? Somebody explain please? I was only slightly overweight (138 lbs at 5'5) and then quickly lost weight from anorexia (down to 98 lbs over about 7 months.). No stretch marks. But since recovering and gaining to about 118 lbs, I have them on my inner thighs! I'm so confused. Shouldn't they have shown up when I lost all the weight, not when I gained some back?
Ok so I also have stretch marks everywhere, it's almost like I'm prone to them or something. There caused by the skin stretching too fast, so it kinda tears deep down and causes the marks. I don't think losing weight really does much to them, you just have to wait for them to fade- which I hope they do eventually, as that's what I'm counting on. They cause me a lot of self confidence issues - but I keep telling myself that if I get myself to a healthy weight and keep it that way, I should prevent anymore and feel better about myself as I won't feel fat as well as having them. I had a few even before I put on weight, so they are a normal thing to have. it's completely natural to feel self conscious about them, just remember times a healer and the only thing we SHOULD worry about is health.

i've had stretch marks since i was 13 (particularly in the chest and thigh region). They will eventually fade so they are less noticable. try cocoa butter, it helps speed up the process.

Hey girls I use bio-oil for scarring but it works for stretch marks too! It's a miracle but it's pretty slow working. You can get it in health shops and in pharmacies and it's really cheap. It's on orange liquid in a clear plastic vial with a white lid. I hope this helps :)

Im 15 and have stretch marks on my hips! It's horrible because it's bikini season and it's bad enough that I already hate this season because of my thighs!
I have them, and sometimes they really embarrass me. But when I really get to thinking about it, they really Arn't that big of a deal. If I could get to of them, I would. But I'm not going to stress over it. We r beautiful just the way we are:)

A Week of Clean-Eating Dinners
I’m trying to give my eating habits a little cleanup these days. It’s easy to pay close attention to what I’m eating on the weekends when I’ve got tons of time on my hands to prepare delicious meals, but during the week when time is less available I feel the pull of convenience foods for their, well, convenience. Here’s what I try to live by when all I have is 30 minutes to prepare a "clean" meal.
