Teens, how many calories do you eat?
Usually for girls its about 2000 cals recommended. Just wondering how much the average teen actually eats?
I'm trying to up my calories and metabolism since i've been eating 1200 cals so long!
People like that typically can't be fully "helped" just by people over the internet. They need an adult's or professional's help. On the other hand, they should NOT be posting on the forum or even be using this website in the first place. They most likley have eating disorders and using a "calorie counting" website is the last thing they need, unless they are using the "weight gain" forums or the "health and support" groups.
OK...no one seems to be getting this. I may or may not be suffering from an ED, I'm not sure. Which to me proves that anyone who posts a low calorie intake may not be aware that they HAVE an eating disorder. Or maybe they don't have an eating disorder maybe they're misinformed, jumping to conclusions IS a bad thing. Shouldn't post in this forum? Anyone has the right to post in this forum, and everything's possible if people can't help each other over the internet than CC would be near obsolete because one of its purposes is to help people from ALL walks of life to live a healthy life-style. Trying to help won't hurt anyone, it's better than doing nothing at all and regretting it later.
After-all...in this day and age isn't 90% of everything done via the internet?
Just thought I would mention to people, from all the messaging and comments i've seen, I ate almost double yesturday without purging.
Yesturday I ate 784 Calories.

784? You have a long way to go, buddy. Make a real effort and get up to an appropriate amount.
Safe calorie increments are 500 a day. That meant, if you had roughly 400 yesterday, you should have eaten 900 today, 1400 tomorrow, 1900 the day after, ect.
You will die if you keep eating that way. Are you trying to brag and show off how controlled you are by an ED? How sick you are?
Go see a doctor
I don't eat much, I'm not going to say how much exactly but under the 1200 calorie intake. I'm a broke vegetarian student who would rather eat nothing than have to eat chocolate or cookies.. It makes me feel like ****. Instead of spending what little money i have on filling things i would rather buy some fresh fruit and veg which doesn't add up to a whole lot of calories.
My goal is to eat 1800 cals a day. :)
I would like to warn many of you of your violation of CC guidelines for forum posting. Please do not post caloric intakes less than 1500 for teens, since this is the bare minimum to be considered healthy. Your bodies are still developing and it is imperative that you fuel it properly!! That being said, those posting daily caloric intakes less than this amount will be warned and their posts removed if they continue to promote STARVATION diets. Here is a reminder of the forum guidelines, CC's mission, along with some resources for a healthy diet.
Calorie-count is all about healthy and sustainable weight management, and we want to have a community where people feel welcome to post and to talk about the issues involved with eating and exercising appropriately ~ to share strategies, encouragement and support ~ within the philosophy of this website and the posting guidelines.
Also, I notice that you are all teenagers. Did you know that the calculators here use the adult guidelines? The international standards for teenagers (age 19 and younger) are different because you are still growing. And especially if you are active as an athlete. It's important that you don't go underweight (anything below a bmi of 18.5 as you mature and reach adulthood).
Anyway, here is a calculator with lots of information including calorie information for teenagers. We suggest you read this information carefully and share it with your parents who can help you set up an appropriate meal plan for you, your circumstances and your age and weight:

And here is where you, and your parents, can find information about dealing with eating disorders should you have any concerns or questions about this kind of stuff, because frankly, throwing up is usually considered a form of purging which is part of the behavior problems suffered by people with anorexia, bulemia and certain other eating disorders. I'm not saying that we think any of you have an eating disorder. However many of you are exhibiting eating disorder type responses which raises concern. here is a website that offers much information regarding eating disorder symptoms, prevention, and treatment options.

The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
