I call up one of my family members. It gets really, really, really, really frustrating and tiring speaking English all times, and it is good to know that someone who speaks your language will not have trouble understanding you.

I also draw and write a lot, it helps get my mind off of something that will make me sad.

I hope you will feel better soon :)

I'd recommend calling them or contacting them in some way, but if that's not an option then puzzles are good.  Jigsaw puzzles, logic puzzles...Sudoku..they all keep your mind busy.  I keep 1000 piece puzzles around for those times and when I need to get my mind off of food!

Also, you could volunteer somewhere and get out around people.  I have been feeling very lonely lately so I adopted 2 kittens and I am going to begin volunteering at that animal shelter.  You could volunteer to serve meals to the homeless, clean up parks, etc.  Wait...are you not ALLOWED to leave?

Read. That's about all I can do. Usually my eyes eventually get so tired that I fall asleep. Not too bad. ;-P

i keep a journal and write down my thoughts, my favorite poems or song lyrics, etc... it keeps my mind off of sad things.

and i video chat with my mom and dad =P

I take a nap. :]

No, i'm not banned from leaving, but my temp. is so high that it would be dangerous to leave :/

and i read all my books!

you don't need television when there is www.hulu.com

I was homesick last weekend.  The most helpful thing, other than talking on the phone to my family, was getting out and excersising.  Walking outside in the sunshine really cheered me up and got my endorphins going.

If you can't go outside, I would read a book.  If you can't read a book, do some art!

im guessing youre at home, sick rather than home-sick!! i think reading is really relaxing....also hen im ill i normally feel tired and sleep more!!

also, i end up doing college work...because i know im missing stuff so its good not to get behind :)
Play my guitar and cry.

I don't deal well with homesickness.  So yeah, you're not alone. :(

EDIT: oh, I just realized, you're at home, sick, not homesick.  Oops, sorry, I feel dumb now.

I'm home sick with mono right now, and I have been just laying around, I have no hobbies and I can't smoke in the house.  I have no way of making money since I can't go out to deal.

One thing that I do is make beats using fruity loops studio, but this is hard because I can't smoke weed to get the mind juices flowing.

When I'm sick, I usually read a lot, sleep as much as possible or do something creative.

Maybe you could try sewing or making jewelry or something? That's what I usually do when I'm feeling sick. It takes my mind off how crappy I'm feeling and I have something awesome at the end.

Hope you're feeling better soon. :)

I've been sick since Monday night. I got to stay home yesterday, but I feel worse every day. I had to go to school today, because of the Literacy Test (if you don't write it, you don't graduate)! It was brutal. Maybe if I'm still sick tomorrow I can stay home again. Usually when I'm sick I sleep all day, or listen to music. I usually write stories, or funny poems too. Sudoku is a good waste of time. I can't sleep anymore, so I decided to get my germs all over the computer.

read books/magazines, go on laptop, watch movies :)

mostly the laptop one haha
