*Didn't exercise all weekend! I feel like I'm always eating, but then I realized all the foods I eat are so low calorie so that could be why I'm never extremely full, but I need to gain anyways!

avatallulah: AHHHHH THE COTTAGE!!!!!! Literally my favorite Chinese place. I am so happy you went! I went there last week and it was a HUGE fear for me! And 3 am snack? Haha I miss eating snacks between 12-4 am, pre-ED me used to eat pizza at this time a lot.... and Trader Joe's thin mints? GIMMIE!

So like the Christmas miracle I had last week, I had a New Year's miracle at my weigh-in today! I only gained 0.5-1 pound (the scale fluctuated when I stood on it)! Yay, this means I'm going to have a super fast BMR :)

I took today as an opportunity to start off the year right by enjoying myself AND conquering a TON of fear foods

For anyone who is maintaining after gaining: So I'm aiming for 3000 this week, but what about next week? 3000 seems like the standard gainer's diet, and I've been increasing my calories every week since I started recovery in October, so should I stick to 3000 until I maintain on that amount, or go for 3100 next week? I'm also going to start posting on the gainer's thread, but I'll still be here! :)

My dog also had surgery today on his front paw so my whole family has been in a total stress, ah, anyways!

peanutbuttercup: Ah nice, nice. My Dad's job was transferred from London to New York six years ago, that's why we're here. I love both cities so much though! What is a yum-yum bar by the way? My morning also sounds very much like yours! Feel better, lovely!

h_m_h: Mmmmm, white chocolate and raspberry oatmeal bar sounds just like my kind of thing!

I've finally gained a pound! ED is not happy about this at all, but my mom expects me to still gain 2 more pounds by Thursday!!  I don't think it's possible, unless I drink heaps of water.  She only wishes me to gain so rapidly because it's part of a deal we had for me to partake in the musical I was cast in.  I'm nervous :/

Breakfast: 2 waffles, 1 small bowl of fruit

Lunch: 1 plate of food at Whole Foods (pesto tofu, mashes sweet potato, veggies, about 1/4 cup or fewer of white beans), Coconut water mixed with vanilla protein powder do not ever try this!!! I couldn't finish drinking it all because I was getting nauseas.  Blegh >.<

Snack: 12 oz Starbucks coffee w/ splenda, Chocolate peppermint stick luna bar

Dinner: ~1/2 cup white rice, ~3/4 cup red curry w/ shrimp, vanilla greek yogurt, Vanilla Ensure

themanicdoll: Yay, congrats on the gain! And you should tell your mom that 2 pounds in 3 days is pretty unrealistic! But for now, load up on water, I guess, as well as other fun foods!

avatallulah: Ahh I love strawberry cheesecake yogurt! And that's so cool that you made homemade hummus! Was it hard?

Today I went to Whole Foods and took a cooking class with my mom! It was nice to sample some healthy dishes! The seminar was about spices and herbs, so now I actually know how to use some of the spices in our spice cabinet! I also sporadically went to Dunkin' Donuts today, which is a HUGE fear for me! But I'm REALLY not looking forward to school tomorrow :(

Breakfast: 1 whole wheat English muffin with 1 tbsp mighty maple, a banana (300)

Snack: Chobani blood orange (140 --- SO GOOD! But the apple cinnamon is still my favorite)

Lunch: panini with 2 slices of whole wheat bread, feta cheese, shrimp, and roasted red pepper hummus; baby carrots and hummus on the side, a pink lady apple (470)

Sporadic snack at DUNKIN' DONUTS: mint hot chocolate (220) and a pumpkin donut (340) (It felt sooooo good to eat a donut, have an AMAZING full-calorie beverage, and NOT have to restrict or feel guilty afterwards!. You should ALL try the mint hot cocoa, by the way, because it was AWESOME!)

Dinner: Amy's single serve margherita pizza, side salad with mushrooms and balsamic, a piece of homemade garlic bread dipped in 1/2tsp olive oil, skim milk (610)

Dessert/evening snacks: 2 peppermint oreos (140), 2 candy cane oreos (140), a gingerbread poptart (200), a Godiva gingerbread truffle bar I got at Barnes and Noble yesterday (220), graham crackers with 1 tbsp dark chocolate dreams peanut butter (195)

~2975, but I sampled a very tiny spoonful each of chickpea salad, tabouli, and warm tomato salad at the cooking class at Whole Foods, so I probably had about 3000.

3 DIY Tortilla Tricks
I love Mexican food—tacos with crispy shells, crunchy taco bowls and salty tortilla chips. But I could do without the extra calories, fat and sodium in the salty, often deep-fried tortillas served at many restaurants or the less-than-healthy packaged versions of these foods sold in the supermarket.
