I just found out that a girl I went to boarding school with now is a "porn star".

It all started when I noticed that this girl who is on my facebook friends had changed her facebook name to something kind of porny sounding and had put pictures of herself that she as obviously naked in and had just cropped the naked parts out.  She also moved to a gorgeous apartment in Hollywood that she had pictures of everywhere.  Neither her or her family could ever afford this.  Something seemed fishy- I just didn't really realize what.

Then I saw on her comments, another girl from that school we went to, posted "I was just curious what your occupation was..?" and there was no comment back.  So I figured it was something she didn't want to share.

So I googled that name that she changed her Facebook to.  I was in shock.  A ton of porn videos and pictures came up with HER in them.

I guess this isn't that weird.. because porn is everywhere now.

I am still in shock though.  She seemed so darn innocent.

Some times it's the "innocent" ones that'll surprise you.

But hey, if she looks good and happy and has a great house she could have never bought otherwise, I guess it's not that bad. 

so? use your assets while you still have them. if that girl is ok with it, who cares? we all grow up.

A couple of years after I graduated from high school I went to a strip club with some friends...one of the dancers was a friend of mine from high school that was always the good-girl type. Lol, she wasn't embarrassed or ashamed and she really enjoyed dancing, so maybe your friend enjoys her occupation as well.

Oh boy.  Cue the arguments over whether p0rn exploits women, and whether she was likely abused as a child, and whether p0rnography is moral/immoral...

Anyone want to pop popcorn?  Or should I just run out for a bag of Smartfood?

Money you earn is only "tax free" if you lie to the government about it which is a good way to end up in jail.

I do find it funny that she is flaunting her body, her new house and her newfound wealth but she won't say how she got it.  Maybe she's ashamed but not enough to keep from showing off?  I don't know.  Seems kind of odd to me.

That's as maybe but i'd place my months wage on it that there isn't a single pro in the UK who fills out their annual tax return and I have never heard of a single one of them getting done for tax evasion...

meh there are somethings people share online in some areas & somethings people don't in other areas, someone could probably connect the dots from here & there if they really wanted to. if they really want to dig deep and find out about them, they can but people just avoid making it easy. so the fact that she doesn't specifically say on her facebook what she does could mean anything. i've come across that alot, and not from porn stars.

but anyway kate, i hope she's having some fun. at least lala land is the place to be for that industry. it's not like she's in the czech republic doing it.

Well, Andie, strictly speaking a pro is already breaking the law, and so would not be filing a tax return to expose her illegal activities.

An actress would have to report her income, or get busted for evasion, I think?

Unless...does 'pro' mean something other than 'prostitute' in the UK?

No-one think it's rather sad?  Presumably nice-looking girl opting for 'sex with strangers and attendant camera crew' as a career option?  .... Even if it gets you a great apartment, it can't be that pleasant a way to make a living.

 I think it probably depends on her reasons.

I understand that the vast majority of prostitutes end up doing that job to finance their drug habit... Maybe she has that kind of problem?

Just curious - where did you find this out about prostitutes?

Also, I'm not sure a p0rn star is the same as a prostitute.

A prostitute has sex with someone for money.

A porn star is just like an actress, except she has sex in her movies.

What porn stars do is not illegal. It's a very safe industry, they are required to have STD/AIDs testing every so often, I think monthly.

I read Jenna Jameson's autobiography. I'm, like, an expert on porn starts.

Some ladies don't find it degrading at all, they like it.
