Hey, I think it was pretty successful and, to be honest, I liked almost everybody that was involved.

(Kidding!)

Same dilly - For those of us in the current four week count down, post your final weight there, and then copy and paste it here... as it will be the starting weight here!

Morning Weigh ins on May 12th, and then every Thursday and Monday from then on!

(I'm actually pretty glad to do this - I'm going to Hawaii on June 12th, so I'd love a reason to keep driving to my goal weight before I get on that plane.)

The fact is, if I didn't do this every day, I would go back to bad behavior... and I have a trip to Hawaii AND a trip to Colorado in the next 30 days.

Here's my personal dilemma: I promised myself no booze and no pizza until I hit a specific weight. I'm... close. I can see it. And... I can see the pizza.

So now I'm torn, because I want to keep moving down my path, but I feel like I totally deserve my "Day of Pizza and Whisky!" Although I'm sure I'll gain a few pounds in the process. That's right. Pounds. Plural.

Question: Is there anything to the "You can only absorb so many calories in a day" myth? I remember, when my friend was dieting like 12 years ago, he would have a "cheat" day where he would literally eat as much as he wanted because at some point, his body would poot out the rest.

I paraphrase.

My thoughts...if, after re-training your body on how to efficiently take nutrients/calories out of your food, it will absorb the calories, end of story.  However, on the flip side of that, (and I'm speaking from experience here,) if I eat a lot of rich foods after eating nothing but lean foods, then yes, my stomach rebels a bit.  But I think a maximum absorption level is really a myth.

And I would think, marmel, that you have internalized this enough that if you didn't come on here you would still be on the right path.

Hey, if I can choose to wallow in Pizza-tude, you should consider your weekend with your friends a choice you made after the fact.

Yeah, it's a little "Iraq War" justification, but who cares?  You can't take it back, so you might as well own it.  Was it at least good?  I'll bet it was good.

And Ellen - you're right.  That being said, I like the math and I like the camaraderie.   Keeping a diary (of sorts) and having to be conscious and "out loud" about what I'm doing makes me better at it.

So, what the hell.  One more month.  It'll help me avoid Man-orexia AND falling back into old behaviors.  :) 

Marmel , You can have the pizza.. Look at it like this, you are going to gain the weight anyway if you have it later, because you are going to binge on that sucker when you get the one.. The best thing to do is have one now so you can kill the want. You can also have just a shot of whisky, but that shot if going to piss you off anyway.. SO just don't have that whisky if one of those shot bottles going to piss you off. I would love to have some Crown, but I'm not going out to get it either.. Man, I could really go for some Rum or some Crown right now. Just can't do it.. Your pizza thing, you can have it.. You earn that pizza.. The thing is what topping's you are going to have on it.. Go for a thin crust.. Small pizza, with chicken and the works on the veggies.. That's what I would do.. Just do it to kill the want.. You are welcome to have a small cheat day every once in a while..

Zephydame, The weekend is over and you can get back on track.. No problem.. When I have weekends that are bad. I always come out swing and taking pounds down one by one, sometimes even double in weight loss. You are going to snap back in no time.. Don't worry. This has to be a myth, but my sister in law told me what she would do when her weight would stop dropping, she would eat some junk, and in a few days after having that one day of junk she would have lost over 2 to 3 pounds, and not gain a pound.. People bodies are different. I've been zig zaging for a week now, and I saw great results.. I lost 4.5 pounds doing the zig zag, and that was my first time trying it..  You will be back on track in no time. :-)

Oops! Memorial day threw me off!  I'll weigh in today I guess..

ehh up 1 pound since last week, all the yummy memorial day food did it i guess!

Hey gang, I ate ribs this weekend... lots and lots of ribs... yep. 

 

They were good.

 

When i got home from camping last night, my weight was 185, I'm guessing mostly water weight, b/c when I got up this am I was sitting at 182.4.  I'm ok with that.  not too shabby for not counting over the weekend.

Got the Wii Fit!

It's got a scale!

And it says I'm five pounds lighter than the scale I've been using for three months!  The Wii scale also syncs up more with the scales at the gym when I use them, so I'm predisposed to believe that weight for that reason... not just because I'm closer to Pizza day.

So, obviously, I'm going to continue using the "I'm heavier" scale until June 9th and then, on the next round, I'll move to the Wii scale.  But... anybody else using one?  Anybody else feel it's more or less accurate?

UGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH So wow I've been having some hardcore/depressing food issues lately and haven't gone to the gym in god only knows how long :-/

Sunday I got drunk, so that was like 700 calories cause I got off work early and drank tons of wine, and ate like over 2000 calories for the day. Monday should have been okay but I couldn't stop eating and had a mini-binge and was well over 2000 calories again. Last night I went out to this FABULOUS dinner with my co-workers cause we made goal at the wine shop I work at so he bought us all dinner -there's only 8, but they entrees alone were $30 to $50 and we had appetizers and multiple desserts lol- and we brought 10 bottles of wine and they were finished by the time we left!!! Hahaha. Then I came home and ate more cause I didn't really eat much at the dinner. I'm weird, cause when I go to nice restaurants I always drink more than I eat. Hmm, issues I guess. Anyways, over 2000 once again!!

So............. my weight is 144. Which is like 1 pound heavier than I was on Monday, but I've been eating a lot more. Honestly, I'm depressed. I just want to be thin already :-(

Ahh Sorry I'm so late!  I was rewarded even though I kind of ate like crazy over the weekend-117 Tuesday morning, and I'll weigh in again tomorrow, although I ate a ton of chips tonight during girls night-and I feel awful.  Oh well, drinking lots of water and moving on.

Don't worry, to me you are doing great. Just don't let that get to you, and send you into another depression binge.. You are doing great. If you can't make it to the gym.. Do some type of workout at home.

So you haven't been doing-- what I call your work.. To me I think you are doing what we all do best during the summer. RELAX & ENJOY ourselves. That's what you are doing. You will get back on track.. I have faith in you, just don't beat yourself up-OKAY!

Down almost a 1/2 lb from Monday.  Surprised since I ate what I wanted on Monday and had a 1.5 lb gain on Tuesday morning.  The body righted itself quickly with good eating and exercising.

Thanks, lynnhaslost & marmel13 for your kind words & support! I needed that! Heck yeah, I had fun overindulging the past weekend. I will be a very GOOD girl this weekend, planning my meals ahead!

Well, I'm down to 135.8 - it's rather hard to go back to 135.0, which I weighed myself last week on Thurs, 5/24 - guess I need to work out more. I havent worked out for 4 days until last night as I finally got back on the track by hitting elliptical.

nefertiti - we all are in the same shoes. I think that after the holidays, we'll always expect a lb gain or two so we'll have to keep our chins up and double hard work. Then we'll be back on track just in no time. ;)

So... this'll make you all a little queasy, but I truly believe that's a combination of two days of exercise, smart eating and finally going to the bathroom.  Its been a few days.

Still!  I'm a pound higher than I planned to be for "Pizza Day," which means by Monday (if I'm smart) I'll have to make that decision.

The more I think about it, the grosser it feels.

Wow, marmel13! 2 lbs within 4 days - that's really an accomplishment! Yes, it's definitely more effective when doing BOTH exercising and eating sensibly.

Since I missed 4 days worth of exercise, I plan to work out every day this weekend... then get back to my normal routine by next week!

gratz marmel, 180's feels good no?  how much further you going to take it?
