Four Week Club - Starting Monday, April 14th? - WE ARE CLOSED! (Start at post 47!)
Original Post:
What the hell, right? Instead of a goal of losing a certain amount, I wanted to try supporting for time, not a number. Try a short term goal based on shaping behavior, not necessarily specific results.
(That being said, I'm aiming for a pound every three or four days.)
Me, today: 6 ft 1 / Currently: 203 Pounds / Goal Weight: 185 Pounds
Who wants to ride out a month together?
Weigh ins on Monday and Thursday mornings? Starting Monday April 14th and ending on Monday, May 12th?
Okay! We are good to go! I'll start us off with the caveat that I'll edit my weigh in tomorrow morning when I get up. It could be higher, courtesy of my little hot dog debacle earlier today.
Our group includes:
Marmel13 (me), Angelaraja, jbshakedown, hepburn5, bohdan, msallen, elairda, mortalmonkey, marekat, fairwishes27, zephyrdame, iddings, losetheweight32, burgessjk, tracy_rishor, immom, eileneg, dayummy, wordwife, akdawn, emschwab, dutch_girl, teanybeany, allabout91, bpcrue, meganeast, ness6377, knittingarch, jjlewis305, and stuhrjr06.
And now, my stuff:
Day 1 Weigh-In: Monday, April 14th
Marmel13: 203.5 pounds (I gained a half pound over night. WTF?)
Game plan for today:
Not drink at work. KIDDING!
Workout: Up at 6:45 for today's weigh in.
Then, off to the gym for half hour of 4.0 mile per hour treadmill, then half hour of basic health club workout with a trainer. Estimate for that, I can add 450 calories to the burn total, which gives me 2800 calories to subtract from today.
Will aim for between 1600 and 1900 calories in.
Challanges for me, today:
Up early for work out and work, always adds the time and space for an extra meal. Am writing in a room with other people, which means snacks everywhere. Plus, then I go into an editing bay for four hours - with nothing but crackers and crap to eat.
Need to remember to drink water, not soda and not eat crap, just because I'm bored.
I'm in too!
This morning I weighed 212, down from 218 about six weeks ago. Current weight trend is 213.4.
Goal is to lose all weight gained in the last 3.5 years due to stress! By May 12, perhaps I will shoot for a trend of 207.4. That will be the first time I have been under 208 in quite a while.
Good Luck Everyone!

Does anyone have filling low calorie/fat food suggestions?
egg whites, oatmeal, FRUITS & VEGGIES, meatless substitutes (I know they freak people out but they are pretty good and SO low in calories/high in protein that I use them ALL THE TIME) - the Morningstar Chic'n nuggets & patties are especially good. All brands of Veggie breakfast sausage and ground "beef" crumbles- great for tacos, spaghetti, etc... Tuna, healthy chili with tomatoes, corn, beans and seasoning, SOUP is a great way to fill up without lots of calories, whole grain cereal with non-fat milk or soy milk (even less calories and more protein that keeps you full), whole grain pasta with marinara sauce & veggies, mashed califlower to sub potatoes (steam with garlic til soft then mash up with a little butter and seasonings)... these are just a few. I daydream at work about how to make my favorite foods lower in calories... OH- my all-time "doesn't feel like a diet" snack is Pop Secret 94% fat free popcorn. A whole bag is about 220 calories. I split it in half and spread over two days as my "salty" snack. Way better and more satisfying than those 100 calorie snack packs of chips and whatnot.
Sounds good to me! I'm trying to just lose a bit of weight in my face before I leave for Yellowstone this summer, but It's been really hard sticking with it, so maybe this will give me motivation to do it. At this point though I'm a poor college student and have NO money to buy a scale so I have to go with what I weighted at the doctors 2 weeks ago.
5'3 230lbs.-Blah :(
Me Me Me! I want in! Two weigh ins great!
I'll be here tomorrow morn!
Closing the group in an hour and a half! (I figure I'll close it at midnight so I can go to sleep and not worry about it.)
90 minutes (30 people) and counting!

Today: Had to go into work, because the cartoons don't write themselves. My mother, god bless her, decided to order a bunch of Nathan's Hot Dogs (340 calories per) for dinner.
My wife, god bless HER, got me some of those 40 cal fat free weenies and some low fat hot dog buns, spicy mustard and saurkraut, and a big ass bag of salad. In the end, dinner was 80 cals of hot dog, 160 cals of bread (I used one bun and one light wheat bread as a bun substitute), 50 cals of salad, 20 of dressing and 40 in fat free pudding for desert. 350, and full as a mofo. But it could have gone horribly, horribly awry.
For the caloric price of one of my mother's death dogs, I had a full meal. *phew*
I am super ready! Bought a new scale today along with one of those handy food scales to weigh stuff at home! Still not sure exactly how this works. Do we just meet here on Mondays and Thursdays????
Repeat of top post, to start the string of starting points:

I weigh in at 101.6 today, that is Kilos not pounds (if only) My game plan was to get up at 6 am to do Tae Bo but I wimped out. I WILL do it tonight. The rest of my gameplan is to eat between 1200 and 1500 cal. depending on how I feel. My breakfast was healthy and filling so foodwise I am off to a good start.
Thanks Marmel for starting this, I really needed some weight loss friends!
I hope you had a good work out this morning and managed to stay clear of all the junk food today.
Hey everyone! Morning on Day #1!!

1600 hours till 2330 hours the waitressing job.
In between jobs today I have to go to the sec. of state and get my tires rotated.
Goal for today: To buy supplies to make my own hummus, keep on track with my calorie and fat intake and to pack my bag for both jobs tommorrow so that tommorrow I can go to the gym inbetween jobs.

Here is Day #1:

Good Luck to all!
ROFL.. figures, day 1 and I'm up 3 lbs from yesterday!!!
Does that mean I'm already out?
Thursday I weighed in at 197 (still there yesterday) this am, 200... lovely. Today's gameplan: I already swam for 20 minutes this am. didn't go to hard, tweaked my back somehow on friday. at work now, got a few walks ahead of me (its what I do on my three breaks) depending on how badly I eat, I might have to spend some time on the treadmill tonight when I get home.
Hey guys
I'm weighing in at 136lbs today :)
My challenge for the day is not to have any chocolate when I go to my work meeting later on (I work in a chocolate shop/cafe). Well, maybe one...
Good luck all :)
Hello All-
So this morning I weigh 136.5. Thanks goodness. My plan is to workout after work today. I have a gym buddy so we will do cardio and weights for approx. 1.5 hours.
My challenge today is my crazy coworkers. They don't think I have any weight to lose, so they try to get me to eat crap.
Mornin guys
I'm 5'9 and 168 today. GRRR!!! Thats up 2 lbs from 3 days ago. Can stress do that? Everything else is normal. Oh well.
Challenge for today is to get on my elliptical for an hour after my kids go to bed. K Off to work now. Have a good day all.
Sarah
Gooooooooood Morning!
Weigh-in #1: Monday, April 14
142 lbs.
Today's Plan
I pre-packed my breakfast, lunch and snacks for my day at work. I will have 1200 "in" calories and I will get on my elliptical for one hour and do 10-20 minutes of weight training.
Today's Challenges
I hurt my knee recently and it's a little "iffy" whether or not I'll be able to do the elliptical for an hour. Also- my coworkers go out to eat all the time and it's hard to turn down the invitation. These challenges will probably be the same every day... *sigh* Hopefully, my knee will someday recover and I won't be so tempted to eat out with my friends.
Good morning!
As you'll notice, I added a cursed half pound to my weight. I have no idea what I did between 11pm last night and 6AM today to add a half pound. Did I sleep eat? My mouth has the same morning taste it always does...
Coffee. Must have coffee.
Oh, and by the way, my AIM/IChat name is Marmel13.
Good luck!
Weigh-in #1: Monday, April 14; 6:50am PST.
141.6,
I'm down 1.2 lbs since I last weighed at 142.8 last Saturday so I'm pretty happy.
Today's plan - Just eat small meals and snacks every 3-4 hours as long as I'm eating high-quality protein foods with a control portion of carbs. (I'm a hourglass shape and it's been said that I should try also avoid high sugar intake. No surprise there!)
Challenge - like teanybeany - coworkers at my work always bring sweets/junk foods to the work and give it out to everyone. (We're a small company of just 25 employees - so imagine all the plenty of food for everyone) I have to RESIST!
Good luck, everyone!
Dang it! I forgot to weigh myself this morning before breakfast. I'm still in, I'll just have to weigh myself either later today, or first thing tomorrow morning. I'll follow through either way.
Everyone should remember that your body will fluctuate weight daily. Lots of different variables. That's why weighing should be done once a week at the same time of day under the same circumstances. This allows for you to get as much consistency with your weight as possible.
So, don't get too bothered if your not happy between Monday and Thursday weigh-ins. Compare your weights between Monday to Monday and Thursday to Thursday to get an apples to apples comparison.
Why do I get bad cramps after I eat?
Suspect lactose intolerance when abdominal cramps are a problem, especially after breakfast when milk products are consumed. Lactose... Read more
