Fractured Phrases

Quote  |  Reply
Okay, this is a game for the thinkers out there...

Take the phrase, for example "Go against the grain," and re-word it (also known as 'fracturing').

You may  come up with something like:  "Move in opposition to the wood's texture."

That is what a Fractured Phrase is!

Rule 1) Once you have the correct answer (or it looks plausible), please post another fractured phrase for the masses.

Rule 2) If the writer of the fractured phrase pops back to give feedback - great! If not, we can self-referee whether the 'guess' is plausible :-)  or give up and move to the next :-(   or give a hint    (e.g.,   Go  _ _ _ _ _ _ _   the     ; _ _ _ _ _ )

I thought it might be   Keep them doggies moving, rawhide     .

..BUT... first word is FOUR letters so must be wrong.  Argggh!
As usual, I'm agreeing with the shazm. That's gotta be what it is! If not, drop a hint redflag!

Though when you said "Musical" I thought it was a song from a musical or the title of a musical.

sorry, maybe I was wrong in my memory of the first word of that line. my intended answer was " get them doggies moving, rawhide!"

but i'll accept keep; it's probably correct anyway:)
I will start it back up again.
