what frame size am I, if...
what frame size am I? If I do the thumb and middle finger wrap, they do not touch on their own if I am relaxed. If I force it I can get them to touch.
Does this mean I am large frame? Or medium? Or in between... ?
You are most likely inbetween like me. I'm the same way, relaxed, no touchie, forced, barely touchie. :)
Thanks, nasuoni... been calling myself in between med and lg so I will continue to do so. I guess it doesn't really matter? But I feel better if I am on the large side. Like... it's OK I have these extra lbs. I'm a big, strong woman! Silly of me, I know. LOL... curse my German heritage! Why couldn't I be petite like my French side?? ;)
I wish I was petite too...But then again, I can always rock everyone's world playing XENA Amazon Princess for halloween!
I am in between just like you with that test (I also have the German big bones). Anyway, I used a wrist measurement and also an elbow measurement to confirm that I am indeed a large frame.
Anyone have links to those measurement sites? I see them around on the threads from time to time.
Oh yeah... they pretty much all say the same thing, that I am right in the middle of med and large. The first one has a 10 lbs differential for my height, for what is considered a healthy weight for med frame vs. large. I will shoot for the middle of those I guess, it's pretty much in line with the BMI tool on this site too.
I dont get 'frame size' by wrapping a finger/thumb... when I was over weight, they did not touch at all. Now that i have lost about 75 pounds, my fingers overlap a TON. So what gives? Was I always a small frame, but just with lots of fat? My arms are scrawny, my watch slides up my arm.... ANd yes, I am a healthy weight and BMI for my height
I would definitely go with the elbow breadth test. If I go by the wrist test I am a small frame...Im tall though so I have long fingers. According to the elbow breadth test I am smack dab in the middle of large frame, Im not talking borderline either. Its obvious too when you look at me, you can tell I have big bones. Its funny how I never saw myself as big boned until I did the frame size test a few months back.
I agree with Kristine, fingers/wrist test it said I was small frame, but with the elbow breadth test it says medium, almost large frame - which I agree with more, no way I'm small frame.
What is the elbow text and how do you do that one? I have ALWAYS thought of myself as large framed and big boned. And everyone in my family is. I was kinda shocked that I could be even borderline medium with the wrist test.
And for your weights, everyone who is large framed, do you still go by the BMI and weight index on this site? Do you add a few lbs? It seems pretty on to me. Like at 5'7" I would need to be under 160 to be at the highest of the healthy BMI (25). And I am nearly 35 year old (female).
same situation here. screw the wrist test. in the past few months ive lost over 50 lbs, which is apparently not a good thing...nvm, and my wrist size has decreased dramatically. so that is my reasoning: screw the wrist test.
