So I wake up this morning shaking real bad from chills. I put on a sweatshirt and socks, close my window and try to go back to sleep with no luck. I take my temperature with my little thermometer. 100.6. NO WAY. I felt like ****, but I couldn't believe I actually had a fever. It's been so long...

There's no way I could go to work, so now I'm here at home. Shaking, then sweating, shaking then sweating some more until this passes. Not to mention the nasty cough that came overnight last night as well.

Yuck.

I am so sorry! It's the usual -- get the fluids in you and pile on the blankets and rest as much as you can. Virtual hug!

Yick! A couple weeks ago I was praying I'd get the flu so I could miss work. I got a cold that really knocked me off my feet and that was bad enough. I'm glad I didn't get the flu, in retrospect. Hope you get to feeling much better soon!

I feel for you. I'm back to work today after being knocked on my butt from the flu for the past two days. My fever was 101.8. I always thought it was amazing how my kids could run around with a fever of 103 (my daughter is suceptible to very high temps of 104+) and yet the average adult could have a fever of 99.9 and feel like they are dying. Now I just have this pounding headache, fatigue, and lightheadedness. I sure hope you feel better soon. Be sure to keep hydrated. Take care!

Today is Day 4. I'm exhausted. I've been keeping my fever down with Tylenol, but as soon as it wears off my temp shoots back up. I have never in my life been this sick. It's rediculous. I've been eating as good as I can though. I sleep so much throughout the day that it's hard to get even 1000 calories, but I'm trying. Work gave me the next 2 weeks off....they are assuming it is Swine Flu/H1N1 and because I work in the Emergency Room I can't be around those people.

Blahhh...

Sounds swiney. Day 4 -- hopefully today is the day for a turnaround (most folk it's 5 days of real misery and then a few more of real exhaustion).

As you find the fever returns immediately, maybe take the Tylenol but then lie under a pile of blankets with a hot water bottle and try to sweat it out a bit -- sometimes that can help move things along.

It's o.k. you're not eating too too much as long as you're getting the fluids in you.

Another virtual hug to you and I hope today is the day when it turns around for you!

Alternate Tylenol and Motrin.
