Freddy Krueger Stomach

Quote  |  Reply

Hey CCer's. After getting up to 300 pounds rather quickly, then having my daughter, and losing almost 100 pounds in 18 months, my stomach is UGLY. I know skin takes time to tone back up/regain its elasticity, and I still have another 50 pounds to lose. I was just wondering if any of you have or have had the stomach that looks like Freddy Krueger's face, and what you're doing about it. If any of you have gotten your stomach back into shape, how long did it take?

You might want to slow down on your weight loss and let your skin catch up to you.  Too fast and you might need to have surgery to correct it.

First of all, congratulations on your 100 pound weight loss! That's absolutely amazing.

Secondly, I realize that the 'hanging' skin is gross (though I'm more petite, I have the same problem). I think your weight loss is at a good rate (5-6 pounds a month)! Eventually you will tone up some, but realize that because you've lost so much weight you will probably have to get corrective surgery to get rid of it all (especially if you've had a child).

I try to work on my core, and that makes it better- but of course it's never perfect! If I were you, I'd be more focused on my weight goal than my stomach. I realize it's annoying to the bone, but it will get better with time if you try to work on it!

I never thought of my tummy resembling Freddy Krueger, but now that you've said that I can totally relate! My lower belly looks like a war zone, but everything around it is nice. I've tried everything to get rid of it but no success as of yet. I'm hoping once I've lost this last 15 lbs it might shrink some... If not, I consider them battle scars. After all, I cooked a baby in there!

Thanks for the responses guys. My current plan is just to keep exercising, losing, and toning. Once I hit my goal weight, I'll be able to focus even more on toning. I don't want bikini abs - though I wouldn't complain about them either - I just want to be able to undress at the gym and in front of my husband without feeling self consious. I'm going to give it three years, and if it's still ugly, I'm probably going the corrective-surgery route.
