thanks, obs! I'll be counting the days for those 8-12 weeks 'til delivery . . . 1, . . . 1, . . . . OK, so it is just 1. :D
thank you for the tip. They ARE very good. Walmart has them too.
WAH!! They don't ship the freebie to Canada! It will be years before I see them over in the city!! I did get one sent to my brother, though. He loves Chocolate. Do I still have to make him a birthday gift?
Whoot! Thanks for the heads up! There's nothing better than free chocolate... except maybe when it's delived by Orlando Bloom! ;-)
ix, don't feel bad--i just did some "research" on the "bars" and they're 22 gms for $1.00. they are packed in a box of 5 for $4.99.
they're about the size of a cheese stick, actually slightly smaller. verrrrrry tasty and smooth as silk, but for half the price you can have some 70% cocoa chocolate from another source.
i compared them with the scharffen berger 70% in my freezer and it's: $.48 per 100 cals for the scharffen berger.
they have added more sugar, (9 gm vs. 5.4 gm) and fiber(!) (2 gm vs. .4 gm) but not much else, and there's less protein, (1 gm vs. 1.25 gm). not that i'm looking for protein in my treats!!
no, you don't have to get your brother anything else-- this is a really nice birthday gift! and it is good portion control, because they are packed in 100 cal "bars." 4 bites per bar.
thanks for the incentive to do my "research," obsidyan! let me know what you think, when yours arrive!!

obs - i filled it out and it says THERE ARE NO MORE FREE SAMPLES! you took them all didnt you ???? :) hehe~
elin- i didn't say they'd be big.. for 100 calories.. :) but i'm more interested in trying the almond and blueberry one.. if and when i can find it.. it's supposed to be better. and for a treat i can handle the slightly less "good" stuff.. ;)
fallin- are they really??? OMG.. how weird.. because they were giving them away until october! wow.. sorry

Those are actually really good. I had the blueberry snack bars and they were pretty delicious. I recommend but they are teeny.
I just got the coupon. Can't have them because of the sugar but they will be a nice treat for my manager who totalllllllllllly looooooooooves chocolate.
Thanks for the link.

If you want to enjoy Rich, Belgian chocolate that is guilt-free (good for you... Really good for you), check out the February 2007 issue of "Breakthroughs In Health" magazine at Barnes & Noble or Books-A Million. There's even a CD that tells you all about why chocolate is heart healthy & more. They don't mention any brand names, but they say the chocolate should be cold-pressed or dried or at least not cooked; it shouldn't be alkalized ("Dutched"); it should be at least 70% cacao and it should be dark for the most benefit. If you really want to be sure it's the best kind, look for the ORAC Value (antioxidant level) on the box. I've never been able to find chocolate like that in the grocery or drug stores, & it's definitely not free, but does it ever taste great! Check out the magazine. The pictures will make your mouth water. You can get at least one kind of chocolate that meets the description in the magazine at healthychocolateplace.com.
I checked the nutrition info on the site expecting to find artificial sugars and all other sorts of evil crap, but the Original Chocolate Bar is actually not bad, and it's vegan too which is awesome for me because most commerical chocolates (even dark ones) have milk in them. I don't think it would be something I'd eat habitually, but I'd definitely munch a free one :)
