french bread shaped like heart

Quote  |  Reply

hi i want to try this bread shaped like a heart at the french bakery but i forgot its name,  i have no idea why i want to try it,  possibly just cause of the shape and that its on the less expensive side of thier offers, but i dont know if its salty or sweet or how unhealthy it is cause it is white bread with a shinny coating,  anyone know what it could be

Why not ask the baker...?   It could be a 'brioche' which is quite a rich bread or it could just be their regular dough made into a fancy shape.  The shiny coating will be that it has been brushed with beaten egg before cooking.  (I just made some bread rolls and that's what I did!)  I'm sure, whatever the answer, it's delicious and also very healthy.

not sure if the baker speaks english! thanks for the advice,  i maybe i will buy it today,  i need a treat

I think it might be a brioche too, although the shape isn't exactly a heart.

I agree with asking the baker, though it does sound like brioche. That, or was simply glazed. That said... if you want to try it, why should it matter if it's salty, sweet or "unhealthy"? That's all in the trying, right? If you like it you like it, if you don't, you don't. That's the point of sampling new things!

maybe if you are going to a holiday party you could buy it and take it with a side of homemade jam or honey butter! a great way to try it without keeping the whole loaf around.
