So I've been back counting calories since April 1 (no joke). My Stats are such: 39yo WM 5' 7" 185lbs, fairly sedentary w/ office job. The CC Eat meter says I should make 1750 cals/day my goal and the Burn meter estimates I burn 2450. My goal for now is to get to 155lbs and I'd like to lose 1-2lbs.wk. I have started running again and walk 18 holes of golf at least once a week, so I am getting more active.
Last Friday I was 182.2
This week: 179.7
-2.6lbs in one week! This is SO working!!!!!

I am only down .5 lb this week. I'm disappointed. Even though I have lost 13 lbs since Feb. 14. I started out losing a couple pounds a week. Then 2 weeks ago it was only 1 lb and now this week only .5. What gives? Clearly there is more to this than simple math because I never exceed my calories and I exercise an hour a day. I also have a desk job. I think I may need to eat more.
I'm going on vacation for the next 5 days to visit family so the next two days I'm going to increase my calories and see if I can kick start this thing we call metabolism. My eat meter is 1200 and my burn is 1600.
Thanks Joy! Keep up the good work. Sounds like you're reaching a plateau, and from what I've been reading here upping your CALS and maybe mixing them up will help. Good Luck!

2 steps forward , one step back. I gained 1.3bls this week.

Down 1.5 this week! My loss had slowed to .5 last week so this past week I ate MORE for two days and it worked!
Last Fri i was 269 today i'm 265.
2 weeks ago I weighed in at 239. Today,4/24, I was 245. I havent worked out too much due to injury, but there is no way I eat 20,000 more calories then I am allowed. What gives?? anybody have an idea? thnx

6lbs in 2 weeks is quite a bit. Maybe you're retaining water? I'm still trying to figure out how I gained, as I was at or under my reccomended caloric intake every day this week......I'm going to trying going over and couple times int he next week, say to 2000 rather than my 1750........we'll see, all I know is I'm not going to give up.

Last week I gained. I thought that was odd, and now I'm thinking it might have been water weight or something. Anyway, I've lost 4.2lbs in the last week!!!

More importantly, I didn't give up after last weeks scale-session.
Since starting April 1st I'm down 8.2lbs! That 2lbs a week!!!
Water weight will cause the number to jump up sometimes even a few pounds and sometimes just for a day. Also what you've eaten the few days beforehand can add weight if it hasnt all finished digesting yet. I've found when weighing myself daily that a few pounds (sometimes even up to four or five) are a normal fluctation once in a while, but that you will see a decrease anyway over time. If you weigh once a week just dont get discouraged at a high number once in a while, it just means that might be one of the days you've retained a lot of food and water. Look forward to next week because you should see a bigger loss, or if you need motivation weigh yourself midweek a few days later.
I lost atleast 2 lbs per week when I started. This week I have atleast maintained a 800 calorie deficit everyday. I only lost 0.6 LBS . Very frustrating for me. Is this normal?

Sounds like you've hit a plateau. Try eating MORE calories. Your body may think you're starving and stopped buring fat.

I just realized I had lost 2 pounds between now and last friday as well. I normally focus more on seeing gradual decline (and lots of fluctuations) on a daily basis and just looking forward to goals. Its nice to see such clear progress though.

Stayed even for the week. 176.8. Acutally am pretty happy with that as we were in Chicago for the weekend, I had a huge dinner w/ cocktails @ the club Monday, and the Boy Scout benefit that served Lunch & Dinner w/ beer on Wed. I did manage to get 3 mile runs in on M, W & F w/ 10 mile bike rides in S, T & T to stay even, however I lost 3/8" on my stomach measurement.
Here's hoping next week isn't so hectic and I see a drop on the scales!
