Ok, one week down and it wasn't bad at all. I only lost one pound, but if I can do that every week and just eat normal foods that I like (no ones forcing any cottage cheese on me), then I could keep this up forever. I actually could go to my son's blue and gold banquet and eat a hamburger and Texas sheet cake without going over my 1800 calories for the day. In the past I might have taken the banquet as an excuse to drop whatever diet I was on and eat whatever I wanted. I might have had the misissippi mud pie, Boston cream donuts and the baked Alaska along with the Texas sheet cake.
SW: 200 lbs. (Feb. 20, 2009)
CW: 199 lbs.

I'm only 12 days into my diet & workout regimen but so far it looks like I'm pretty much right on target with my daily calorie deficit. I've been aiming for 1800 per day (1000 calorie deficit according to the caloric expenditure calculator) and based on my weight loss over the past 12 days, I've averaged 1860 per day.
Starting weight (Feb.16): 195.8 lbs
Current weight (Feb.27): 192.6 lbs
Total weight lost: 3.2 lbs
Goal weight: 175 lbs

Total weight lost: 4.8 lbs (~25% of goal)
