Ok,, today I am 138 :) down 2lbs from last week. Yay!!
Hi there, can I join in? I really don't like weighing myself so hopefully this will force me to do it. Once a week sounds like a good amount too. I am hoping for 1 pound a week, 2 would be great but I don't know. Also, any advice on a reliable scale? Mine likes to stop working all the time, which makes me not trust it. I live in Canada in a fairly small city. We have walmart, canadian tire and zellers though.

I'm up 2lb!. But hey ho! These things happen ad I'm not surprised, have been too tired to stick to calorie conting. Back on track again so IT WILL BE better news next week. Well done everyone that's lost and welcome newcomers. Good luck for the next week.

Hi everyone, welcome Jenn! I got my scale at WalMArt. It's a digital, and appears to be fairly accurate compared to Drs. scale.

We'll have up weeks and down weeks. Hopefully the down weeks will compensate for the up weeks. The important thing is the accountablilty, and consistency. Also, Friday is THE best weigh day! You can have the weekend to enjoy, and have the next week to get it under control. I DON'T recommend going crazy over the weekend. But you don't have to worry about Monday weigh-in.

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if I might join in all the fun!  I feel a little strange I must admit, but I'm tired of feeling the way I do both mentally and physically.  I need any support I can get and I loved the tools on this sight, also found the blogs/chats to be pretty cool too!  The hardest decision is figuring out which one I'd like to post to.

I'm an ex-athlete that has put on 46 lbs. in the past 6 or 7 years and I feel like crap because of it.  I have a beautiful wife and fantastic 3 year old daughter, a nice house with land, a great job, horses, and good friends.  Oh yeah, and I'm miserable inside!!! Why? because of the insecurity my inability to control my weight has given me.  It's really embarassing.  Most people, if not all, who know me would think that I've got most everything together, but I barely hold on to it truthfully.  I underperform in all aspects of my life. 

I'm still the life of the party guy alot of times, but I used to be practically a motivational speaker and now my wife says that I'm the most negative person she knows.  OUCH!! 

God, I could go on for 3 pages but I have to stop right here because most people have probably stopped reading this already. For anyone who's still hangin' in there I'll just get with the program and tell you that I've initiated a new workout and nutrition plan in my life 11 days ago.  I've figured out my RMR and have decided to create a 1000 calorie deficit each day while working out each day as well. 

I'm happy to say that I started 11 days ago at 251 lbs. and I am now down to 244.5 as of this morning. (7.5 lbs.) My goal is to get to 205 (my "playing" weight).

You guys can kick me off of here for posting such a long thread but I had to get some of this off my chest.

I just want to say congrats to everyone on here that is doing so well, and keep it up!

If anyone has read all of this, God bless you!!
My usual weigh in is wednesday, but I actually want to change it. So friday is my new weigh in day starting now.

Hi everyone! Well I used to post on the Fri weigh in but have been bad about doing that. I haven't gained many pounds, and did gain about 4. I finally decided I wanted to get this last 20 pounds off of me and I needed to get back on the wagon. So this week I have been eating and counting my correct # of cal. I am at a new low as of Fri morn of 170. I have now lost 75 pounds and have 15 more to go. God Bless each of us on our weight lose goals and acheiving them! Linda

WOW I'm soooo excited to see so many new names appear. This thread gets lost during the week. I try to post mid week, just to bring it back to page one as a reminder. WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER! IT DOES WORK.... IF YOU WORK IT!!!! "Not to fast and it will last"...my personal mantra. Yeah we'd all like it done tomorrow. But don't sabotage yourselves.

DUNDERMIFFLIN...I hear your pain.... I get it!  Things look soooo good to the outsider.... Aren't WE glad they can't see the REAL inside. The shame, and insecurity. They wouldn't believe it OR understand it. THIS IS the FIRST day of the rest of your life. This site amazes me daily. I just can't believe it's FREE! Everything and everyone I need to be successful on this journey is right here at my fingertips. WE ARE ON OUR WAY to a better, happier, healthier, and more satisfying life!!!!

I guess I should have posted a few stats on myself so here goes:

Height: 5 foot 1

Frame: Small

Start Weight: 140

Goal Weight: 115 ish

I'm planning to eat 1500 calories a day and hope to lose one pound a week. So I guess that would make it around Christmas that I hope to be at my goal weight.
This was the first full week for me, so it was a big one:

I started last weekend at 302 lbs and weighed in at 297 on Friday.  That was a 5 lb swing for me.  Part of it was my sodium stabilization (water retention fell) but I also was running about 1,000 net calories short on my daily burn.

I am 5'11 and my 1-year goal is 220 lbs.  (Ultimate goal of 190)

Frame: large

Exercises:  Karate X2 days (Uechi Ryu), MIIT/HIIT cardio X3 days (swim and elliptical) and long dog walks with my 14 lb jack russel mix, Ramona.

Favortie new food: Fiber One Oats and Peanut Butter snack bars for breakfast (can't jump to oalmeal just yet)
I'm gonna join in this, seeing as Friday is my weigh in day.

Last Fridays weigh in: 65.5 kg (144lbs) which was 1.5kg (3.3lbs) down from previous Friday.

Started at 68kg (149lbs) on 25 June

Goal: 127lbs
Let's continue to stay positive so we can have great results come Friday

OK ya'll. Look what day it is!!!!! Time to get it together. Friday is just around the corner. I must admit I've had a hard week at work.I will be happy to have maintained last Fridays weight. I've done OK with cals, but haven't gotten normal activity do to off site job training. Hope you all do well to help motivate me. Good luck everyone!!!!
Ok well its Friday where I live, so weighed in this morning.

A disappointing 65.5kg, same as last week so no loss, but atleast no gain!

Not sure why though I've been good, ate within cals or slightly over, like yesterday.  And have been to Curves twice this week, will go again tonight, but I haven't been walking though cos its been so freakin' cold.  Maybe thats why no loss.
OK so I didn't have a chance to weigh myself this morning, cause I woke up way late for work... So I am going with yesterday which was 173.4, which makes like a pound lost for this week, not too bad.... Hope you all did well!

132.5 lb, thats down 1 lb since last Friday, and 2 lb in total since I started July 17th!  Not bad if I don't say so myself!
