Friends without Facebook

Hey! Is there any way to have friends on Calorie Count without going through facebook? I would like to keep my facebook account separate from my Calorie Count Account. And I know that some people do not use Facebook. Am i missing something?

go to CC users profile and hit add buddy button located to the right of their avatar.
