Do your friends and family know that you count calories? If so, what do they think of it?

Just curious. :)

.

Most of my friends are fairly healthy eaters (one is actually a dietician also), so while we occasionally discuss caloric contents, or how healthy or unhealthy a certain food is, I've never told them that I very specifically count calories.

In my family, well I've never outright said that i write down every little thing I eat, etc., but they know I pay very close attention, and they know that I read the nutrition labels on everything I eat.  One of my sisters has seen me writing it down before, and subsequently accused me of being insane and obsessed.  I also have a tendency to refuse to eat what they have cooked (I'll usually just make myself something else) because they are seriously unhealthy eaters.  Most of my family has a very poor perception of just how unhealthy they really are.  So they don't respond very positively to what I do.  On the other hand, they've noticed I'm way healthier than I used to be, and seem to be happy about that.

My mom and my sister are kind of supportive but my mom always takes my healthy food, adds CRAP to it (butter) and tells me it's okay to eat it. My sister thinks I'm obsessed because if she makes anything I'll say, what did you put in here and about how much of it? They think I'm crazy for measuring everything but I am seeing results and now my mom wants to follow in my footsteps. We shall see! 25 more to go!!
