I had fun with my halloween contacts. No costume to go with it but they got some pretty good reactions. My favorite was a guy who came in while I was working. He stumbled backwards. When  he caught his balance he said "whoa, I'm havin flashbacks". I wore them to a bonfire at my parents house on Saturday cause they give my mom the creeps. My 2 year old niece said " red eyes" she turned and ran away. She would look at me for the rest of the night.

last time I tried to wear contacts, my whole eye changed to that color- lol, my eyes don't like contacts. Plan on wearing them on other occasions?

The last few days I have been carefully planning my meals- I take breakfast, lunch, and snacks and try to leave calories for dinner, which I seem to be over calculating before hand and end up eating only 1200-1300 c. a day, which is ok, I guess, but I have been working out too...

SO, today I add calories to the morning and lunch only to find out that we have been invited out to dinner to celebrate a friend's accomplishment- not only does that mean "going out calories" but I won't get a chance to work out either... I know I should make good choices at the restaurant, and I will try, but still... the luck :0)

Anyways- it has been too quiet around here... how is everyone?

hi bella!  I am good, but BUSY at work.   (:    where are you going to eat?   I find (non-cream-based) soup and salad or sandwich, not too bad.... places like Chilis and Applebee's have yummy, healthy foods too..... They will do what you ask -- no butter, no salt, no bread on something, etc.  ASK FOR WHAT YOU WANT and ask what is in it too!!!   I am always amazed how helpeful people are when I say I am trying to eat healthy.....

HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!  and one day is not the end of the world.    OH and if you are working out a lot  (more than 100 cals or so) EAT MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   OK>   ??   {{{HUGS}}}

Hey J- looks like everybody is busy- I should be, but nothing is pressing, so I don't feel like it Sealed...... I have been doing minimum of 20 min cardio and about 30 minutes worth of weights, so yep, need to eat more- never thought I would say that LOL... it is just finding the balance, which is the good thing about writing things down...

I don't know where we are going- that was my first inquiry so that I could look things up- thanks for the ideas- I just have to learn to speak up- but your advice helps and knowing that people are helpful makes it even easier. And it is a good day for soup!

I know it isn't the end of the world and I WILL NOT let myself feel badInnocent it is just funny how it worked out all on the same day Foot in mouth

Thanks again- and hope your day is going well!

Went to Applebees on Sunday; I chose something healthy then at the last minute ate a burger but I really wanted that burger considering my AM.  Yes, I love Applebees also...so many healthy choices.

Today after work I plan on working arms and walking on treadmill.  This weather really makes me cold to the core so I do tend to do more cardio just to warm up!!!  We just have rain so far but it is suppose to turn to snow.  My weight was 129.4 this am....will it stay down????  Please stay down!!!

Hi Puppy- I am guessing b/c you are on here there is no news?

I wonder if I did cardio in the AM if that would help me to be warm during the rest of the day?

WOW, bella ----- on workout days, you should FOR SURE EAT MORE than 1200.  I am just guessing, but I bet you are working out close to 3-400 cals which means eating only 1200 makes your body get only 8-900.  NOT CLOSE to what it needs.....   I know it sounds crazy to eat back those clas you already burned off, but if your hot bod thinks it is starving, it will hold on to EVERYTHING.....   I did that too -- for a while.  Got frustrated with not losing, asked someone here....  got some good advice, upped my cals to the 15-1700 range and lost like 10 lbs in 3 weeks because of it, changing NOTHING else.    It;s worth tracking to figure out what you need......    do you track workout cals burned and food cals in too?   I find the weight loss math FASCINTATING.    (:     have fun out with your friends .   and seriously, I know it is weird or seems weird to ask a lot of questions about how things are prepared or what is in them (cheese for example), but people are really helpful and want you to have a good dining exp so you will come back, right????   so ask.   ( :    OH and I <3 soup!   I think you are one awesome chick, sophia bella!

YAY, for kim/puppykisses!!!!    129 dance!   only down from here!!!!   ***HIGH FIVE***

I had a really good day, am feeling lazy about cutting up veggies or folding laundry, but other than that, all good.   I want my Friday weigh in to be 153.0 or less!    I realized I have things for spaghetti red in the cupboard and that would be good and hot and yummy too.

Ug, I'm TRying to hold on until DH gets back from a meeting to have dinner. After 8 is so late for me but I really like having that time together. :( I've got califlower steaming on the stove to make fake mashed tatoes and I've already made meatloaf in the microwave (my fav-- done in 10 minutes instead of an hour!) Gosh, i'm making myself hungry!

Hang in there pk, it'll stick soon!

bella, you're really doing well with the exercise. Keep tracking but add more protein sources early in the day, I'll bet you get closer to where you need to be.

Wish I had to eat back more, but alas I haven't worked that much exercise into my regular routine yet. You girls are smart to get a handle on this diet/exercise thing while you're young. It's a b___ when you get older!

lol, bella -- we were posting at the same time or I would have said YES, I think working out in the AM makes my meabolism run faster all day = warmer for you.   ( :

YUM, chris --- micro meatloaf recipe please?????     I love fake taters too.   Old Atkins trick.    I agree ----- I am so glad, proud, happy I got a handle on my "healthy lifestyle" at a relatively young age.  I wasted a lot oftime being fat and unhappy.   ( :  NO MORE< I SAY!!!!!

My goal is to eat 1500-1700/day especially on the higher ends for workout days... I love the energy... I think my problem is that I weigh and pack stuff and guestimate the calories too high plus the leave room for dinner and what ever later snacks I might want is what is getting me... I need to do the calories before hand. And yes, Chris, I need protein- that has always been my downfall... Thanks all for the advice!!

I am sad to say, I once had an ok lifestyle, but slacked in the later years of college and decided I needed to snap out of it NOW! :)

Again, I want to go to Chris's house for dinner- you have great sounding stuff!

Dinner last night was at a Korean place, so I really didn't want to get picky- but the stuff (other than sodium) was pretty good. No fried, filled up on seafood/tofu soup- YUM and a cup of rice and lettuce wraps... couldn't judge the calories because there were little things here and there to taste, but mostly veggies for the bits and the bulk was beef, which I don't think I got a full serving of, so yeah, not bad.

Up one lbs today :( I know, I know it takes time :)

you did great eating out, bella!  good for you!!!! proud of you!   ( :

1500-1700 is a good range.  do you log and track cals or just guesstimate?   that would be good to do for a week and see what you REALLY eat vs. think you eat.   ( :

PS: I wanna eat at cHris' too!!!!

Still no baby.  She has an appointment tomorrow, so we will see what the doctor says.

Chris is that just boxed mashed potatoes?? Micro meatloaf???  Let me know how to do this so I can let DH know.  Last night I had Gortons fish fillets and steamed veges.  I put it all in a micro dish press 6 minutes and I have a wonderful dinner.  I did have a bottle of porter (dark beer) to calm my stomach before eating.  I am such a nervous nelly.

Going to fill my liter bottle so I at least drink it by the finish of work.

:)

I guess on what I pack away and what I plan for dinner, then I actually write it down as I eat it and that is when it comes up lower... but hey- I won't complain about adding a few healthy snacks and even- GASP- a little dessert :)

Aw Puppy- I bet you are nervous- Hang in there Laughing

any new word, puppy???   happy bday to daughter......  ( :    this your first grandbaby?  do you know the sex?

gotcha, bella......      I am all for adding in the dessert and stuff to make up for the low cals.  I find if I spread mine out more evenly through the day, I do better not overeating at night --- usually.   (not always)

I sucked lat night.  I bought groceries and way overate on good foods, but still.  small vivtory?  only overate -- did not drink at all.

weigh in today ----    my low this week was 153 again, but today I sttles at 155.4.  I'll take it.  I had a great jog today -- cold and starry.   Did the long, lake route.  I love it when running feels....... easy.

Morning ladies

I got a wopping 159.5 this morning. 154 last week. Seriously frustrared. I want to go eat the rest of my kids halloween candy! If I'm gonna gain that much in no time I might as well right! GRR!!!

Water Water Water That is my only goal today-besides lose this headache.

Sorry

Chris- I'm curious about the fake mashed also

aww......  I am up to from my low this week and last, sarah.  chin up!!!  next week is our week.    Cool

129.3

Have no idea what happened to the 126.x...maybe I read it upside down.  I just ate chocolate peanutbutter and walnuts for dinner.  I also had a few glasses of wine but I just switched to green tea.  I hope I can be a bit more mature this weekend and keep my head out of the toilet.  I have not acted like this for years.  I believe the stress is getting to me.....and I am medicated...lol.  Baby will be here Monday by induction if not her in the next few days.  It is a little boy and his name will be Caleb.

Hope all is well with Kim's (PK) grandbaby! I don't blame her for being nervous. I suppose by now she's running around being Grandma!

Didn't mean to ignore the meatloaf/tater questions...I was out of town for a few days. Microwave meatloaf: just a normal meatloaf recipe but form it into a wreath shape and microwave ~8 to 10' depending on how big it is. If there is much fat in the burger it will collect in the center and you can pour it off if you don't leave it sitting...It will reabsorb if you leave it sit. The 'fake mashed potatoes' are actually mashed cauliflower. As janay said, it's an old Atkins diet trick. They serve them at Applebee's but they put so much fat in them that the cal total is really bad. That's not necessary, I just use Smart Balance and skim milk and they're fine.

I too hope all is well with PK- I keep hoping to catch a post from her, BUT being grandma is WAY more important and exciting than posting :)

They use the fake mashed potatoes in South Beach as well, very yummy
