Friends for support
Hi everyone,
I've been doing this life style change since last april. I'm down to 188 from 250 and hoping to get to 150. After a long plateau for medical reasons my doctors finally think I can start loosing again.
So thats where you all come in. I would like people who are willing to act as support to add me as a friend. I'm going to write in my journal regularly about how i'm doing with my new goals and would love to hear feedback. I have a few friends but I find the more support I have the better.
I will give support in return because i know words of encouragement can be a big pick me up.
So do I have any takers? I would love to make some new friends.
Cynthia :-)
Hi Cynthia!
I just signed up TODAY for this web site. I had my annual physical last week and am at my 2nd all time highest weight! I am 53-years-old, on cholesterol and blood pressure meds. and those are in check. My sugar is somewhat high and I am in the 'watch' mode. Otherwise, I am healthy; haven't been to the doctor since my last physical a year ago. I have struggled with my weight ALL of my life since I was a young grade school girl. I believe I am addicted to food and the sense of wanting to be full, even tho', I hate the feeling of being stuffed and unmotivated. I am needing support too and applaud you on your success so far! That is great news! I would love to get below 200 lbs., which I haven't been at in over 10 years. When I exercise, I feel healthier, but lately it seems I haven't been motivated. I work full-time and sit at a desk/computer most of the day.
Have you been following any specific diet plan?

Cynthia, add me as a friend if you'd like. I check journals about once a week and if something pops out to me I comment.

Cynthia, congratulations on the weight lost so far - that's a huge accomplishment. Right now my goal is simply to get to 250 lbs a weight I haven't been at since I gave birth to my son and he just turned 10! I guess I can't claim that it's baby fat anymore (haha). Anyway my ultimate goal is to get to 175-185 which is what I weighed when I got out of college.
Feel free to add me as a friend. I've added you to my friends list. I try to read journals on a daily basis and try to make entries daily as well although some days get missed. I think the journals both ones I writing and the ones I read are great motivational tools and help support my progress.
Good Luck!
Cynthia, you should be very proud of yourself and your weight loss to date!!! You must have been gratified to hear that your plateau will soon be a thing of the past!
Are you planning a specific type of eating plan and/or exercise plan?
How can we best encourage and support you?
=^..^= MOLLY
hi Cynthia well done!
I am more than happy to be your friend! You sound like you have done so well and you should be sooooo proud! I have no idea how to add friends I'm still working out this site haha!

I added my goals in my journal. I really need to up my exercise with more intense cardio and weight lifting. I'm also going to add some yoga in for core strength and stability. As for eating i stick to the three meals and 2 snacks schedule and try to keep under 1550 a day.
Molly the best support for me is just to read my journal entries and make comments. I like having support from this forum because most people I know here are not as committed to this as I am. If I am tempted to slip they try to encourage it so that they don't feel bad about not doing anything themselves. Knowing that there are people here who support me is a big thing for me.
