Frozen diet meals

Does anyone use lean cuisines, smart ones, etc?  I have been using them for portion and calorie control, but they are so high in sodium!  Does anyone out there have any alternative suggestions?  (Please don't tell me to cook my own food.  I'll say ok, but I will never do it!) Embarassed

Jill, I used a lot of lean cuisine when I started watching my weight..I used mostly the chicken meals with out much sauces, so lower sodium.  The other food I eat is Schwan's (home delivery).  Some is reasonably priced, some high priced, but they do offer some nice choices for healthy meals and light eating, plus they deliver right to my door! Plus, by ordering the majority of my food, I spend less at the grocery store because all I get there then is bread, bevarages, and paper goods.

Try Amy's brand of frozen meals....a little pricey but very good.  They also have ones specifically for vegetarians, vegans, gluten-free, etc...

Thank you for your posts.  Do the Amy's brand meals have less sodium?

The Healthy Request meals are a pretty good option.  Have you thought about making a crockpot full of good-for-you veggie chili (southern living magazine has a great light recipe!) and freezing it in single serve containers?  That has really helped me!  Good luck!

Where would I be without my frozen meals.....I hate to think of it!  I had never looked at the sodium content before.  Maybe that's why I have been feeling a littel puffy lately?  I drink at least a half gallon of water thru out the day and it seems to off set the effects.  I do like lowfat crock pot recipes with plenty of left overs to tuck into the fridge.

I keep frozen meals for when I do have any left overs.  I try to cook enought at one time to eat off of for a couple of days.  I cook extra meat and veggies.  I have 1 serving of meat and one serving of veggie at each meal until they are gone.   Also, anytime I light the BBQ I load it down with chicken.  Chicken freezes good and can be uses for sandwiches, salad or in other recipes.
