if water weighs less when it is frozen (aka ice) does that mean that frozen food will weigh less then if thawed? giving an inaccurate measurement

ex: if I were to weigh a frozen chicken breast and it was 150g.. would this amount change if it thawed?

Water doesn't weigh less than ice.  It expands to take up more volume as ice, but it weighs the same.   If you defrost a 150g chicken breast and 20g of water runs off it then you've actually got a 130g chicken breast.

I swear I was told before that water weighs more then ice lol... but the volume idea makes sense
