Frozen grapes ~ Now with more fruit!

Quote  |  Reply

Idle curiosity but some people specify liking frozen grapes. Why freeze them? Unless some areas have bags of frozen grapes in the freezer aisle.

***Edit: What other fruits can you freeze okay and how long do they keep? Do you just stick it in the freezer?

Some people like the way things taste better if they are cold

Well for me frozen grapes are really refreshing and I can trick my body into thinking I'm eating a dessert instead of a regular ol' grape. Frozen Almonds do the same thing for me... Plus I have to take my time eating it so by the time I've had 5 frozen grapes I feel pretty satisfied and my t.v. show is over. ;)

but thats just me.... I like a little variety in my life.

i eat frozen grapes when it's super hot outside.  They're like little popsicles.  My absolute favorite frozen fruit, however, is mango.  I cut it into long slices, slip a popsicle stick into each one (they get sticky if you hold them) and freeze them and they rock my world.

frozen grapes are basically an ice cream substitute for meee

Thank you for the replies. I was curious if something changed by freezing it or if it was to keep the fruit longer or some such. Grapes are one of the few fruits I like :)

If you freeze them in lemon juice they are even more refreshing.  We used to give them to kids that way when I helped at a day summer camp and they loved it and thought it was a real treat.

The texture changes - they get icy, but not rock-hard, so its possible to eat them straight out of the freezer.  It's like little mini grape slushees :P

That said, they aren't my favorite - but I don't like eating really cold things, so it's a temp thing, not a taste/texture thing.

I am addicted to frozen grapes.  Every time I go to the store I make sure I get at least two bags to have on hand because I don't know what I would do if I ran out.  Like a previous poster said, they are my substitute for ice cream.  Actually, I eat most of my fruit frozen, but grapes are my number one.  I've been trying to cut back, but it's terribly hard.  They are like little sorbets in your mouth.

Mmmmmmm.

I'm a huge frozen grape fan myself. mmm mmmmmmmm good. especially out in the sun on a hot summer day. i like frozen bananas a lot too.

I also love dried fruit..... SOOOO GOOD, on hot days i'll drop them into a glass of sparkling water with fresh mint and on cold days just munch on them with tea.....

ohhhh frozen lychee - that's another great one...and soooooo good in any drink, like ice tea...great for entertaining!

frozen grapes are wayy more filling and take a lot longer to eat. I could munch down regular watery grapes so fast and easily eat more than one serving. With frozen grapes thats a little harder to do.

i loooooove frozen grapes. they are a must in my freezer all the time :)medveditsa -- love your frozen mango idea. i'm gonna try that one!

oh yumm! I loveeee frozen red grapes. frozen green ones are really good too, but I find that the purple ones get an amazing texture when frozen! I actually like them half frozen, not hard, but still solid! yummmy!
