Fruit binge?

Quote  |  Reply
I have a somewhat silly question...if I freak out and eat a lot of grapes, will it stall my weight loss as much as if I ate the same amount of calories in potato chips? My target cal intake is 1200-1500/day, and I'm up to abt 860 already before the evening and dinner which will inevitably involve a glass of wine (or two...). I just ate about 2 cups of grapes and a quarter of a honeydew. Does anyone else go on crazy fruit binges?

2 cups of grapes=120 cals
1/4 honeydew=160 cals.

You didn't do too much damage.  I go on crazy fruit binges all the time, especially with those damn grapes!  The bag just sits there, all open and inviting you to eat.. ah!  But.. don't worr about it, even though a calorie is a calorie, its always better to get them from fruits or vegetables than potato chips, because with those calories you got a whole bunch of vital nutrients and water, whereas with the chips you would get nothing but a grand amount of fat and salt.  So don't feel too bad, and just continue throughout your day, and enjoy your wine! :D

I have peanut/andor peanut butter binges a lot. It's my trigger food- I can't stop once I start and I ALWAYS start!

Fortunately, grapes are a lot lower cal than potato chips AND peanuts lol, so chances are you'll feel like you had a binge, but the cals won't be extremely high. And if you binge on some grapes your fullfilling a nutrient that your body needs and can use- and that should be included in your diet. If you binge on potato chips they're empty sodium starchy carbs that are useless to your body!

My problem fruit are bananas it seems like I can never have just one, and at 90 calories a pop they add up quick!
I LOVE fruit.  Grapes, oranges, pomegranates, and raspberries are always on hand.  When I eat a lot of them I kinda feel bad when I get a bit bloated and think about the carbs in fruit, but then I remember when I used to eat Oreos Freshman year like they were going out of style and continue throughout my day like it aint no thang.

I do a lot of fruits binging! Just yesterday, I had 14 fresh figs! Usually, I try to measure everything before I start eating. For instance, yesterday, I also got these delicious strawberries so I put them in a measuring cup and I stopped after the 2nd one. Just to make me more conscious of what I'm eating, but there's always this comment in the back of my mind: it's just FRUITS! The only bad thing: bloat comes after all these fruits!
