Since fruit has natural sugar in it, is it bad to eat too much of it?
Will it increase your risk for diabetes or can it affect your health any other way? I'm wondering because there are some days I eat nothing but fruit could be bad? Thanks.

fruit is good for you, but it's bad to eat too much of anything. it's also bad to eat only fruit, in multiple ways. you need a variety of foods (and you know it).
Fruit would be bad in the same way that eating too much of any one healthy food is bad for you. You can eat lots of fruit as long as your also eating lots of vegetables and lots of lean protein and lots of complex carbs...etc.
As long as you have a diet that has a big variety of healthy foods and you are within your calorie goal range, the amount of sugar in fruit shouldn't negatively affect it, in fact, fruit is great for a healthy energy kick. (Diabetics aside, obviously)
So yes, eating ONLY fruit is bad, not only will you have too much sugar in your diet, you will be lacking in nutrients that you can't get from fruit and the nutrients you do get, you will have a hard time absorbing (you need fat to absorb a lot of nutrients and fruit is seriously lacking in fats). I'm not sure if high blood sugar alone can cause diabetes, but I wouldn't test it either.
Thermal is right on! Hopefully your not losing the big picture in your weight loss goal. Above all, you should strive to eat a healthy and balanced diet everyday.
The fact that fruit has natural sugar in it can be used as a health benefit in itself, especially if you are like me and have a sweet tooth. Often times after dinner I crave something sweet. Instead of opting for something less nurtitious and healthy I look to a quick fruit salad. Use ripe banana in baked recipes as a sugar substitute, not only will it sweeten your dish it will also add nutrition.
Fruit not only provides flavinoids (which studies show aids in the reduction of belly fat) and a range of vitamins, it aids in digestion. If you have a slow bowel, eat 1-3 pieces of fruit as your breakfast. You will be amazed how well it works! Plus, that gets you close to making your recommended daily allowance in the morning, giving your body plenty of time to metabolize all of those natural sugars.
This is all true but the sugar in fruit is still interpreted by your body as SUGAR. It's just a better option, not a free-for-all food.
I have a bad habit of having huge amounts of fruit
I only eat pure natural foods, no refined sugar or artificially made things, so my food “ vices” are things like fruit and nuts and raw, and large pieces of salmon ( LOVE salmon)
Having too much fruit can give you terrible stomach aches and also makes you very bloated!
I have noticed it with certain fruits more then others,
I can have A LOT of berries, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, without any bad affects, BUT, when I have too many peaches or plums I can get diarrhea ( gross but I thought I should warn you) and also get a stomach ach
The other day I ate too many plums and all the sugar made me feel ill
4 pieces of fruit a day is more then enough! 5 pieces won’t hurt if you are low on calories and need to eat extra, but any more can be way too much sugar. Trust me, I have experienced this many times!

Fruits are very low in protein and good fats (except avocados), which will leave you with an pretty imbalanced macronutrient ratio. Moreover, a diet mainly composed of fruit can be imbalanced in phytonutrients and vitamins.
Fruits tend to be low to moderate on the glycemic index with the exception of watermelon, so they won't cause diabetes like soda, syrups, and cakes will.
Some people in the fitness industry claim that high fruit diets can adversely affect your weight loss efforts due to the sugar in fruit being stored as fat when the sugar is not used or stored in the liver or muscles. As a result, these people eat low carb fruit such as raspberries and discard high carb fruit such as bananas while increasing their protein and good fat intake.
Bloating, sotmach pains, diarrhea caused by fruit consumption could be caused by an intolerance to fructose, a sugar predominantly found in fruit. And of course it could be fiber.
too much of anything is never good. just aim for balance and you'll be fine :)
everything in moderation
