OK, I'm having a problem. I wanted something different for breakfast, so I tried a banana. I puked about 10 minutes after eating it.  About a month later, the same thing happened. Today I had about a cup n a half of cantaloupe for breakfast, and though it didn't come back up, it nearly did. I used to be able to eat fruit for breakfast and it was ok ... and if I eat fruit any other time during the day, I'm fine.

Are there some people who just can't eat fruit for breakfast? What's the deal?

Nothing has ever caused me to vomit, unless it was off or had too much alcohol in it ;-)

But then again I hardly ever eat fruit on its own. One of my favourite things is a simple fruit salad - sliced banana, diced apple, some nuts, low fat yoghurt & honey. I'd have that any time of the day.
The thing is, I wasn't very hungry, but I take pills in the morning and cannot take them on an empty stomach ... I figured fruit would be the best way to go to add just enough to my stomach to be able to handle the meds. Apparently not.
Anyone?
hmm... maybe since you're taking meds right away in the morning, you need something that's a lil harder to digest than fruit to go with them.  Fresh fruit and veggies are very easy for your body to process where as medication can be hard on the body.

Start out with your fruit, then follow it up with something a little heavier too like a small amount of cereal, yogurt, or cottage cheese.  Remember to get some good protein in your breakfast too like maybe some chicken pieces, turkey bacon, or eggs.  Once you've had your breakfast and your tummy is settled, then try taking your meds say a half hour after.  Hopefully that will help keep your tummy calm.
Hmm, thanks for the suggestion ... i'll see what I can do.
just a question, do you have allergies??? just regular pollen stuff?
Nope, nothing at all ... healthy as a horse. Why do you ask?
Hey- I've had the same thing happen to me! It is the medication for sure. I went to the hospital once for a bladder infection and they gave me medication (that I was supposed to eat something with)... all I had was an apple.  I threw everything up 10 minutes later.  I didn't know why. When I asked a doctor and read up on it, some fruit consists of acids.  Some medications cannot be mixed with the acid and the medication itself.  It causes a reaction in the stomach lining causing you to throw up.  Try instead some whole grain toast or some kind of cereal.  Whole grains are good for you and they allow the medication to digest within your system!
Hmmm, thanks for the info, that's very interesting ... This, I did not know.
