i looked up calories in a kumquat, but it says without refuse.  what does that mean, without the fillings, the seeds?

I believe it means that you eat the entire fruit (without refuse, nothing wasted).

I doubt that includes seeds, though.

it just means the entire fruit then.  why didn't they just  the whole fruit instead of without refuse.  that's just ridiculous.

refuse is the peel and seeds without refuse means the fruit once u have peeled it and taken the seeds out

Then I ate a mango "without refuse"!!!

LOL...have you ever seen a mango seed?   hahahahaha  good luck eating that!

I will change my entry--thanks, uncleben and helpless (for asking).  :)

lol i think for the mango they put without refuse for the weight of the fruit.. cuz the seeed weighs alot and some people closely monitor the weight of their food. so its telling u tht a mango has X amount of cals for X amount of weight of pure fruit without the seed
Good, lol.  I wish I could be that accurate!  :P
thank you uncleben for clarifying that, it just bugged me for so long.

kumquats are eaten whole.  no seeding or pealing. They are mild -no bitterness you associate wth other citrus peels.
so does the skin of the kumquat has calories?
