Fruit suggestions
If anyone has any suggestions. I have a grocery near me with tons of fresh fruit, so finding things hopefully isnt an issue..
I eat/like:
grapes
strawberries
pineapples
apples
any exotic fruits/ similar to those above that I might enjoy? Thanks!
Navel oranges are so sweet. I just peel and eat the sections between meals. Same for pink grapefruit. Not only filling but lots of fiber and phytonutrients. Ignore what they do to the sugar totals in CC since that is mainly to track added sugar to your foods. Apples are also great: I slice in half and then cube each half and toss in a container for snacking or adding to a salad. No need to cut out the core or seeds--they are all good. The prep time is about 30 seconds and they taste better thatn the prepacked sliced apples--cheaper too.
Seems like you like the sweetness of fruit.
I would suggest: cherries, plums, raspberries, and mandarin oranges. I also like mangoes myself, but I don't know if you would rate that as one of your favorites ;]
I really like kiwi fruits as a snack. They're really easy because you can just cut them in half, then eat them out of the skin with a spoon.
I know it's not SUPER common---but try Slicing StAR-FRUIT sometime! it's really really delicious---super-mild--kinda like eating a grape! I've really learned to love them!
Actually you are already taking good fruits anyways i will suggest you for oranges and bananas because it is my favourate.
Try ruby red grapefruit! Also raspberries/blackberries (more fiber than you'd think for the sweetness!)
Dragon fruit! They're not particularly sweet, but me and my daughter love them
I love nectarines now they're similar to peaches.
Mango is SOOO good. Sounds odd but i have it often for brekkie, a little bit chopped up with some banana, mixed in natural yogurt (tangy!) with a drizzle of honey, some cereal (for crunch) and ODDLY ENOUGH toasted sesame seeds. It tastes SOOO good!!
Have you tried freezing grapes? YUM!
if you can afford it, blueberries or raspberries or cheeries. YUMMY.
I like eating crisp apples from the fridge too.
Do you just have fruit? I like to use the above in breakfast, but not only for breakfast. Eg. banana cottage cheese pancakes, overnight oatmeal with yogurt and cherries, blueberries yogurt and granola etc. Makes the fruit 'last' longer. Yummy
Mangos
Gala apples & walnuts & raisins, great combo
Peache
i love papayas
Well, I'll try to list some other haven't.
Run of the mill:
- Watermelons (there are now the smaller, personal sized ones you can buy)
- I've heard of pears being likened to apples before (I don't get it myself) but they taste awesome! They're crisp, crunchy and delicious
- You didn't mention any oranges/grapefruit, but if you don't like 'em cuz they can be sour, you can always try tangelos. They're almost always sweet and seedless.
More exotic:
- Longans, sweet, mild, refreshing, and delicious. Similar to a berry; very juicy.
- Jackfruit, visually remind me of pineapple, also quite a phenomenal taste.
I agree with the Starfruit! Very tasty. Also, honey tangerines are DELISH!
pummellos! they're similar to grapefruit only bigger and yummier :)
I also like kiwi, cherries, mango, pomegranate, pears(my favorite are red pears), oranges, raspberries, breadfruit, papaya, starfruit, jicama(good for fruit salsas), guava, tamarinds(or tamarillos), melons (cantaloupe or honeydew), avocado...I love fruit!
I would also suggest doing a little research on any fruit your not familiar w/. getting the correct ripeness can make all the difference in taste. (the first time I had starfruit I didn't know how to tell if it was ripe so I just ate some and it was awful! but only cause it wasn't really ripe :) it's pretty easy just google the fruit and there's usually lot's of information especially on grower's sites...even recipes sometimes :)
Those are some of my favorite fruits too (except I don't really love apples). Other fruits I like are dark, squishy plums, watermelon, mango, kiwi, cherries, bananas, asian pears, and mandarin oranges. I don't think I could ever get sick of pineapples and mangos though...
