so today i got home and knew i was going to binge but i really knew that i shouldnt. i couldn't stop myself but decided to try a healthier apporach...even thougu bingeing is so not healthy. but i had a ton of baby carrots. a ton of edamame, 2 bananas and 2 apples. that was about 3 hours ago. i don't feel hiungry just kid of strange. should i eat dinner? does anyone else have "healthy binges" ? I know its really bad for me and the fruit and veggies are making my stomach crazy....
advice??
You should try to eat a light dinner if you can handle it and have the calories left. Get some protein and whole grains and the good fats. Maybe eat a bit later than you normally would so you have a bit more time to digest those veggies.
In the mean time, drink plenty of water and be sure to get enough fats - you probably consumed a lot of fiber. If you don't drink enough water and eat a good balance of fats while that food digests, you may get constipated or have diahhrea.
oh god, that's nothing... but foods like that make up the bulk of my calories. i don't consider it a binge. i like to eat a lot and i like it to be healthy.
to me, when it's not healthy or in my "plan", that's a binge. just because you're eating a lot of food doesn't make it a binge unless you really feel out of control with it.
sometimes, i have hungry days. days when i'm just growling! on those days, i let myself off the hook for things like fruits and veg because i can stay in control while letting go, which is important to do sometimes, especially if it's TOM or you take into account extra activity (like an extra walk or two) and it doesn't seem to make a difference in my weight.
i hope that wasn't an inappropriate way to respond... take care!
hey there this is me......... i overeat veggies each day like so many you have no idea i make myself sick...... just want you to know ur ef not alone in this one!
I binged on apples with low fat peanut butter and got the worst stomach problems. I was burping up rotten egg taste two days later! It was awful. It took a few days for it finally to pass through my system.
Eating way too much of even healthy food is not good.
I had a similar experience than Kimne last week, 'cause I binged on some meat cake my mom baked, it had onions and that kind of stuff, it was baked and well cooked and I needed some protein, but wtf... I got sick for 5 days... X_x I felt so sick that just the thought of eating that again makes me want to puke...like I'll never be able eat red meat ever again xD
Well, back to the topic, I think you made a good choice by eating healthy foods. But it's still not good to binge; it makes you worried and guilty, and if you weren't you wouldn't be posting here. When you feel like binging and you're not too hungry or not hungry at all, find something else to do until you're enough hungry to eat normally. A famous nutritionist in my country once said "The reason because so many people in the World is overweight, it's because they don't eat when they're ACTUALLY hungry".
And if you're really really starving and feel like devouring the whole kitchen, calm down and serve yourself ONLY what you'll eat. If you have problems with self-control, go to eat to your room or living room... very far away from the kitchen, where you can grab food from everywhere. Do not repeat. You must know yourself enough to know how much you need to be full and not uncomfortably full. Good luck! =)
