Fruits Are Good Frozen
I'm sure most people have tried frozen grapes- you pop them, and they're like popsicle shots.
Lately, I've also been freezing my oranges. I pop them in the microwave for 25 seconds, which is enough to just soften the peel and leave the inside a slushy consistency. Then, I can cut it open and peel it (even though my fingers are frozen by the end). When I eat a good, sweet frozen orange, it's like eating sherbet. I've been eating frozen oranges instead of real sherbet or ice cream!
This just makes wonder... what other fruits are good frozen?

I looove Light n Fit vanilla yogurt with a bunch of frozen berries mixed in. You can get frozen berry mixes most anywhere; it ends up feeling like sherbet too!~
great idea, xuraiya! i'm going to try that. i already use frozen peaches from my backyard. i take out a couple and dice them up on my pancakes, with yogurt. makes breakfast look and taste like dessert!
also, i freeze peeled banana chunks, and when i put them in the blender with yogurt and orange sections or orange juice, it makes excellent smoothies.
you can also just blend yogurt with frozen banana, equal parts, to make a yummy soft ice cream substitute.

I looove frozen grapes. I buy the huge red grapes with seeds still in and between nibbling cold bites and removing the seeds, they take ages to eat. Feels like such a huge snack and it's so low in calories.
I have to bump this post, because I read it yesterday, got intrigued, bought some grapes and oranges and crammed them in the freezer.
The grapes were awesome. My roommate didn't go for them, but I think they're just great. I'm excited to try the oranges (and I'm already thinking about the second 184gm of grapes I put in the freezer this morning for tonight's dessert!).
Hopefully, more people will read this and try it out, or share other great fruits to freeze.

Frozen blueberries or strawberries in a bowl with a little milk and sugar poured over. The milk freezes around the berries!
I love freezing fruit,
My fav recipe is get a can of pineapple chunks in natural juice, freeze it. Then, get the ice block out and blend it up so its a slushie/frosty. If I'm craving more sweetness, I add some cottee orange and mango sugar free cordial (only 3 cal)
Yummo!

Thanks for the idea of frozen oranges. I would have never thought to freeze them. But the are SO SO SO good!
fruits are awesome frozen...but are really good dried too, dont u think?!
I'm glad you guys like the frozen oranges! Although, with the freeze that just destroyed all that strawberry and citrus crop, I don't think we'll be getting oranges for a while. (Isn't it ironic, though, that here we are freezing them, and it's a natural freeze that killed the crop?)
Claire, what do you mean the milk freezes around the berries? Then what do you do?
Frozen fruit is SO much better than canned fruit (unless you get canned fruit in its natural juice and no sugar/syrup) and dried fruit (again, unless no sugar added).
Although, if you freeze banana sliced thinly enough, would it resemble dried banana chips enough? I know people who like to freeze bananas as popsicles, but I'm going to try the frozen-chip idea, since my dad just bought a whole bunch of bananas.

How long can something like frozen grapes hang out in the freezer.... or any fruit for that matter?
xuraiya, I mean that when the milk hits the frozen solid berries, it freezes too, and coats them. It's like ice cream but not creamy. I love it in the summer time. Right now it's so cold outside that I'm craving warm things.
I make a frozen fruit smoothie.
not all of it is frozen but enough to give the smoothie a milk shake like texture.
1 banana, 1 orange, Frozen strawberrys lots of, and fruit juice (i like the grape, raspberry and apple juice from asda)
its grate and really good to be eaten befor sport it really helps me focus and gives me lots of energy,
