fruits over vegetables/

I need your opinions! I have a really hard time eating vegetables without slathering them down with cheese or butter they do not taste very good to me and I was thinking today if I have to eat another salad without any dressing I am going to scream my head off!!! I do like fruits do you guys think this will slow my weight loss down if I eat fruit instead of a lot of vegetables as long as I keep a close eye on my calorie intake? Any help is appreciated.

first of all I have to have my dressing. I use one serving and make it last on my salad. Someone suggested lemon juice on salad which sounded good to me and would be good for you too. there is a post in foods talking about negative foods. Take a look at that- lots of fruits, your body burns more by getting rid of them than the calories they bring in. Im probably not wording it to make sense but take a look at that. have you ever steamed your carrots or broc? I steam them, add some I cant believe its not butter and lemon pepper! my favorite seasoning!

hope I helped some- Im hungry now!
Hi there,

I can relate to this

I love ranch dressing :~(

I have been using a really good balsamic vinager and a bit of crumbled feta cheese. It's pretty good ! Also I used to make fun of my sister for this but I bought it out of desparation; spray butter

It has no calories and it really taste like butter ! It's not bad on toast either.
Hope this helped a little

thanks slappy I will try the I can't believe it's not butter.
It has been very hard for me to diet if you have ever read my profile you know that I have had a lot of medical problems so prior to my last surgery I was always too skinny! I weighed 87 lbs when I graduated from high school it is very hard for me !!! I grew up on good old southern down home fried cooking! it never phased me weight wise! I love butter and cheese and was never taught to ever eat healthy I am having such a hard time finding things I can even tolerate eating thanks for the advice
I grew up on the same fried chicken and chicken pastry! buttermilk biscuits! I love the I cant believe its not butter spray and I use the stick too. I saw yesterday they have garlic and herb butter now!
Hi Sherri,

Fruit isn't going to sabotage you .. unless you put butter and dressing on it too ;) lol.

Fresh fruits are a great choice, but don't give up on the vegetables. i had a butter/cheese addiction from childhood also.

I personally love the smart balance light spread. It has no transfats and tastes very much like real butter. I also use certain fat free dressings (not all, some I don't like)

The last one we got is really good it is an italian ceasar dressing that is fat free and it's really quite tasty without the weird texture some ff dressings have.

Also, you can use a product called "butter buds" on some vegetables. It's a powdered FF thing you can find in the spice aisle. It tastes pretty good. I use it once in awhile.
Slappy,
that would be the negative calorie food list I posted that like way back in early december but it should be here somewhere still :)

Yes there are several fruits on that list as well as veggies :). I love both myself. Too bad bananas aren't on that list they're my favorite :)

You can use some olive oil on salads or veggies - it's monounsaturated fat, so it's a better alternative than butter or most margarines.
