Why I wish my genes fit me better too! Healthy is what we chubbily challenge have to strive for. I bet your friends that don't work out and eat like theres no tomorrow aren't really healthy. Stick with it because in the long run you know its worth it. (One day when your old and fit, and thier old and well not so fit you will be the one that has to motivate them to get out and get healthy!)
thanks vicstudentoria :] i needed that .
i just wish i could get back on track . i really struggling with it . before the holidays i was doing great.. i wouldnt even think about binging anymore..and now im eating things i shouldnt like everyday :[

Just think about how much better you and your body feel after a balanced meal then a not so balanced one.
I've been struggling in the same way today.
Just try to put the feeling that you should be eating when you don't really need to behind you. Your body will thank you later.

Sounds like you might need to find a destresser... something relaxing... Maybe yoga or pilates and just take some time for yourself. Maybe it'll make you feel better and not compare yourself to them as much.
Don't worry; everything you eat catches up with you eventually. Even if those friends don't ever gain weight (which they probably will) they're headed for high cholesterol, hypertension, diabetes, and maybe even cancer.
You're doing the right thing and keeping yourself healthy. Keep it up :)

my doctor once said to me "healthy may be thin, but thin may not always be healthy." Basically, even if they are thin, you don't know what's going on inside them. They could be much less healthy than you. Fat doesn't always make you chubby---it could hang on your organs, too. I don't wish that on your friends, but it's just something to think about. Besides, you're not around them constantly--they could be working out like mad and not say anything. That's another variable.
no, that's not the case. its just in their genes. they eat all the time and even they say it. they even try to gain weight so they dont look so flimsy. i doubt the work out.
To make you feel better, one of my friends weighs 80 pounds less than me and his blood pressure and cholesterol counts are higher than mine. Skinny does not mean healthy if you don't eat the proper foods. He has to take high blood pressure medication. My blood pressure and cholesterol counts are excellent.
Hey nette, may I ask how old you are? When I was in school I was always the chubby one surrounded by skinny friends and was also bullied by skinny girls for being bigger. I never ate significantly more than the others (not until I got into my late teens, anyway), it's just that they seemed to have very different metabolisms to me.
However, several years on in my mid twenties I am now at a healthy weight, and many of those girls gained significantly. I think the difference is that I really had to learn about nutrition and how to look after my body, and a lot of them never had to think about it and kept eating the way they were. Honestly, it is easier to make changes when you are younger and get used to them, than having to change the bad habits of a lifetime. Keep up your sensible eating and exercise habits and it will pay off :)

im 14 . it sucks being the " chubby " one around all your skinny friends .
I know. It's horrible. My skinny friend is always eating chocolate and biscuits in front of me and has even started losing more weight as he eats more junk. It makes me so depressed that I want to give up. But I don't. I take comfort in the fact that even if he is thin, I am healthier and one day his cholesterol is going to be through the roof.
Well, these "skinny friends" might not be skinny forever. I've known many a skinny girl who ended up with a weight problem at some point in life. I would just say "don't hate" because one day when you're where you want to be you'll want people to be happy for you too. Know what I mean? :) When you get skinny there'll be some girl somewhere envious of you.
I have a friend who can eat anything he wants and never gains a pound. He sometimes eats a whole pizza to himself. Crazy!! I eat 3 meals a day and usually 2-3 snacks and my BF only eats 2 big meals and 1 snack. I always tell him his metabolism is probably getting worse and worse and as he gets older, the weight is going to pile on.
ehh i try not to think about it . but im so obssessed with what i eat and if im eating at the right time, the right amount of calories, and i drive myself insane . soemtimes my friends are eating bars of chocolates and i look at the wrapper and tell them how many calories it has then they just reply something like " oh well who cares " because they dont gain weight . i miss that i could say that . but i cant . id be so upset afterwards at myself .
i wish i could do that *** sorry typo .
I can relate with how you are feeling. But not all is lost. It is VERY important to focus on changing your lifestyle, not your weight. If you eliminate unhealthy habits and replace those USELESS habits with useful ones, then the weight will magically fall away.
Relax on yourself, ease up, you are going to change. It is not important to fit into that smaller size next week. If you make some small changes, next year and every year after that, you will look and feel great.
2 additions to your current routine will yield results faster than most else that you can do in a healthy way.
1. TURN OFF THE TV AND COMPUTER and go out and walk. You are probably awake 16hours per day and work/commute 10, that leaves 6hours free. What are you doing with the time? I would walk a minimum of 4 days per week.
2. COUNT CALORIES - there is nothing controversial about it. When you force yourself to write down every single thing you put in your mouth everyday, you are less likely to scarf down those random slices of cheese and cookies.
You need a life change buddy. It's wicked hard to do thing by yourself. Good Luck!
