I can't decide what I am. I look at the scale, and it says 118. This thing tells me I am underweight, but I don't think I look it when I look in the mirror. I feel fat, soft, and flabby. I try on pants, and I can barely fit my butt in a size 5 anymore. I've tried looking at other pictures of girls who weight what I weigh, but I don't think I look like them. I feel like an ogre sometimes. Well, anyways, here I am. Maybe if I lose five pounds I will feel better? Probably the famous last words of a sane woman. : )

Hello :)
It's hard to assess your situation without a lot of information.
You don't have a profile set up.
How old are you? How tall are you?
these are things that factor in to what is considered healthy.
I understand your frustration and I know that what WE see in ourselves does not always match what the mirror shows us, or what others see.
My name is mcderin, btw.
Tell us a little more about yourself and hopefully we can figure something out to help you feel LESS frustrated.
This is a wonderful site. The tools are great. The community is AWESOME.
I am glad to meet you!

I am a little under 5'7, and I just turned 27 last month. I'll tell you, I really felt the drop in metabolism on my 27th birthday! I've struggled with weight issues since I was little. My nickname in elementary and middle school was Large Marge. I stopped eating in highschool and dropped from 150 to 125 lbs in a month. Three years ago my fiance left me, and I stopped eating again. I dropped from 120 or so to 105. I'm currently at 117 (as of 15 minutes ago). So, history of eating disorder is established, but I thought I was over that. I've heard that you never really recover from anorexia, just like alcoholics, but I really just want to feel good about myself.
i remember being 5'7'' and 116lbs.. i was also 13 and an athlete and HATED my body. I thought i had huge thighs, knobby knees, and a squishy belly. Even my memories of looking at myself sitting down picture my thighs as monstrous. but when i look at old pictures of myself i was totally hot ;) i was skinny and had nice thighs. Perception is so weird, try to not let it get under your skin, you probably look great at that size. But I understand, I used to work out every day after basketball practice to keep from "getting fatter" hah. Even now Im only 6lbs away from being officially in the "healthy" range for my current height and i feel like a big disgusting pig. If anything, make sure you eat enough calories every day and do exercises that tone and firm you up instead of focusing on weight loss.
