Frustration

Quote  |  Reply

It's so frustrating when I don't reach a goal... I'm finding myself saying "hmm, how can I lose 10 pounds in 17 days to reach my first goal?" I wanted to be healthier looking for school... :-( (Also, there's this guy...lol) The fact that I haven't reached my first goal weight on time is kind of a bummer...

What do some of you do, to keep yourself motivated and happy, even if you don't reach your goals?

17 Days is way to little. You should be loosing up to 1 to 2 pounds a week TOPS. Just keep looking forward and know that it will eventually get you somewhere :]

Make your goals something that is not as fickle as weight - goals toward a healthier lifestyle, not a goal weight seem to work best.

Things like good grades on your diet analysis, making it to all of your planned workouts, eating all of your servings of vegetables make the best goals because you actually have CONTROL of these things.

I lost 16 pounds over the first 3 weeks. I am now in my forth week. I am eating about 1200 calories a day and burning 2000 cals a week. I do about 4 days of cardio 30 minutes a day and 3 days of weights 30 minutes. All in moderation. The key to loosing weight is burning calories. anyone can do it

I just reminded myself that even if I didn't make it to my goal I still lost weight.

Honestly, trying to lose 10 lbs in 17 days is nearly impossible and very unhealthy. Like puh8suwrux said, try and don't set weight loss goals since you can't really control your actual weight. Eating more fruits/veggies, getting an A  on the Diet Analysis on CC for so many days, etc. are more healthy ways of setting up goals.

You should be eating more. You're right, I agree with you, you need to burn calories to lose weight. But it is not good to starve yourself. I heard the absolute minimum a man should be eating is 1,500 and a woman 1,200. But you should be having at least 300 over that. So you should probably be having 1,500 calories so you don't starve yourself...

med, don't set that hard and unrealistic goal for yourself. You should be losing 1-2 pounds a week but no more. So let's see, a good goal for you is 5 pounds in three weeks. But if you do set that goal, don't get down on yourself. If it's only like 3 pounds that's still good. At least you know you are doing something. And it is probably going to stay off since you are doing it the right way by not starving yourself and excercising.

puh8suwrux has a good idea and I think you should try that as well. Set goals that you have control over.
