Fudge, that's right, I said the F word.
I just ate fudge, I sure did! I took one piece (2 inch square, 1 1/2 inch deep) and cut it into nine equal nibbles, and put the other nibbles out for co-workers, your welcome co-workers! I just tried to log it, but there are two fudges listed and they are a world apart in size (only in grams) and all other aspects.
These two came up when I searched fudge:
One is 70 calories for 17 grams the other is 461 calories for 100 grams, so avg 4 calories per gram. There are no "one inch square" or "2 ounce piece" to give me a feel for how much to log. How big is 17 grams of fudge?
Thoughts?
Have you tried hungry girls version of fudge?

Um, if you don't have a scale (which it sounds like you are at work, so of course you wouldn't) you could try to find something that might be similar in density and see how many grams that is. For instance, I looked at a snickers bar, and it is almost 59 grams, 4 inch X 1.125 inch X .75 inch. Now I just need to remember some calculations...
Your fudge piece was 6 inches cubed, the bar was 3.375 inches cubed. That comes out to be about 17.5 grams per cubic inch, so using the snickers bar as a basis, your piece of fudge was 105 grams.
Hee hee - I wonder how accurate that is?? Well, it is probably a decent guesstimate, anyway. Maybe someone else will have a better answer...
Love the methodology on that one! You gave me an idea. I got scared because your thought process took you to 105, BUT I cut that piece into 9 pieces. I actually (like a freak) just snuck into the kitchen with the postage scale, and this 1/9th piece of fudge was a little less than an ounce, and I went out to a website to convert, and it said that one ounce is 28 grams. I know density has to play a roll too so I just logged it at two servings of the 17 gram piece. I'll just call it done!
those hungry girl recipes sound goood...
oh and by the way, the fudge was worth the 140 calories I just logged. ![]()
I think fudge is worth it's calories too :).
The kind I get is sold in one-ince squares or thereabouts, and the package lists them as 70 calories per peice (can't remember the grams but 17ish sounds right).
Nothing to do with the fudge, but thanks for the laugh!
(i use my postage scale at work to weigh my fruit :P
