Oh and celeb body is a hard one...  cameron diaz for me.  she's tall, and has killer abs.  sigh.   or miss klum- how can she look that good after three kids???  beyond me.

Hey everyone! Seems like there are lots of tall girls here--I'm 5'11" myself, and I really would like to lose 25 pounds by June 1. I hate the scale :( but I can't wait to be motivated by everyone's tips!

Hi everyone ... I am 29, 5'3" and weigh 152 lbs. I am from new jersey. I started last week and lost 4 pounds already which is pretty cool! I got married in september and weighed an even 140 on my wedding day .... ideally I would like to weigh 135 but I'll be happy being back at 140.

The most frustrating thing about my body is I have tiny arms and tiny legs and a big midsection and that is what I am trying to get rid of.

Calorie Counter told me to eat 1800 calories per day, which I thought was sort of high so I am shooting for the 1200-1300 range.

Last week I was pretty cranky and hungry and moody. I have gotten more used to it this week. I have a question for you girls though ... I know ideally you are supposed to eat 6 small meals per day ... or 3 meals with snacks .... but calorie wise how do you fit in snacks? I have no room for snacks. And, I have to admit I am a coffee addict. I'd rather blow my calories on an afternoon coffee than a snack. Should I kick that habit?

Well, it's been great reading all of your posts. Good luck to all those getting married! Planning my wedding was SOOOOOO much fun! My proofs are online if anyone is bored and feels like looking at wedding pics!

www.pictage.com  event name zabrina zaccone date September 2007

Looking at pics of other weddings is what inspired me!  :o)

Have a great night!

Okay, I am also a coffee addict, but I have gradually weened myself off of the turtle mochas/caramel macchiatos and just drink regular coffee w/2 splenda and maybe a splash of skim milk or fat free half and half.  And I drink close to 64 oz. of water a day to counteract the caffeine that I NEED in the morning.

As for snacks, I have fruit for a snack usually.  Something that takes a little while to eat works for me... like apple slices or an orange (oranges are great because you have to peel them.  By the time I'm done w/these snacks (which I eat while I'm working), I have to get a move on with work to do.  Also, chugging water helps.

I know some people do string cheese, but I eat that too fast and then think that I need more.  I guess I have figured out that, for me, snacking is not just about the hunger, but about having something to do w/my hands?  Is that weird?

I have been trying to switch to skim too ... I have to make that my next goal. I like your idea of drinking water to counteract the caffiene. I just hate being in the bathroom all day!

I agree with the string cheese ... even if i peel off one strand of cheese at a time ... it  isn't satisfying enough .... I'm going to stick with the fruit ...ooo I remem ber when I was doing south beach I had        celery stuffed with laughing cow cheese.

And, i totally do not think it's weird that it has more to do with having something in your hands. I think that is what it is with the coffee for me too ... it's the whole experience ... smelling it, sipping it ... holding a big mug of it in my hands .... it's a comforting sensory explosion!

:o)

omg i hate running to the bathroom all day also!  i'm sure my co-workers think i've got some kind of bladder problem.  oh well.  maybe i can count the trips as burning calories?

oh coffee... your description makes me want to run to the kitchen and refill my mug.  I will not cave!

oooh i also do fat free yogurt or individual containers of low fat cottage cheese.  sometimes i need the protein to stop the hunger.

Hey ya'll. Myt name is christina. I am from Louisiana. I have to lose about 100 lbs. i know scary scary. I just had a little boy about 3 months ago. I am tired of trying all the fad diets and yo-yo dieting. I just assume go back to the old-fashioned exercise and limit calories and fat. I mainly just want feel healthy so I can play with my son. Fell free to give any advice as I will do also.

Hello everyone...I am new to this site as well!  My name is Gina, I am 26 yrs old and from Brooklyn, NY!!  I'm looking for support and motivation I guess to help me along the way.  I am working out, eating healthy and trying to just stay focused on my goal, which is to loose 30lbs by May 31st!!!!!!  I want to be able to go to the beach or pool in my bikini and not hide behind a stupid sarong!

Hi All! I was reading my last post and I wrote something about "toady" ???? I think I meant to say "day". WoW.  Anyway, I am loving all the tall chicks out there!!! And all the not-tall chicks too!!

Today I had a subway sandwich, it was about 450 calories. That will be my main meal today. I've been having 5 small meals throughout the day lately, but still trying to stay under the limit. It was really good though... MMMMMmmmm bread.....

Hey... This seems to be the forum that I most fit in with... I'm 23, I'll be 24 in less than a month and I'm from NY...  I was always in shape, always athletic but I had a baby at 20 and I have not been the same since... I want to lose about 60... but for now I'm just going for 20 by my birthday... Big goal but I lost 12 already... What diets are everyone on?? I'm on weight watchers

Hello to all the new people!!

I've just realized that I probably don't belong on this site. It is Friday night and I am at home in my pajamas counting calories. I'm afraid this means I can no longer be considered as a fun loving girl . So hopefully you guys wont count this against me too much! Smile

Have a great weekend!

I am 5'3 and a 24 year old girl from texas... I am trying to lose 100lbs and am also trying to stay motivated... How do you add friends on here? lol I cant figure it out Laughing

I'm always home or working!! i'm a single mom - and really not as much fun as I used to be!! plus I hate getting dressed to go anywhere b/c I never ever think I look good enough!  Its horrible what weight can do to a good time!

Hi wceasterling.... I added you and sent you a message... and for some odd reason I wrote directions for sending a message!! haha... I didn't realize it until after i sent it... but the add buddy button is right above the send message one!

sorry about that :o)

Even better than hot tea for keeping you full is hot white tea. It's a bit like green tea, but with more antioxidants and even yummier. It completely kills my appetite everytime, so great for in between meals when you really want snacks, or are craving unhealthy foods.
conlex - I hate that!  I always end up wearing the same 5 or 6 outfits to work and I have a couple for the weekends.  I'm so bored w/my wardrobe, but don't want to buy anything until i can fit into the clothes that are in my closet that i miss wearing.  i have faith that both of us will be slimmer and ready to show off by summer!

Hey everyone!  I just joined the site last night...a late start for a New Year's Resolution, I know.  I'm 24, right around 5'5", and would like to lose about 50 pounds.  Oh, and I'm from boring old Northeast Pennsylvania, almost in New York (the border's a mile from my house).  I'm looking for friends but don't really know how to go about doing it...thought I'd post something in this discussion since it's for the 20-somethings out there! :-)
