Having just read "Are you serious" and laughing at the extremes people will go to I just wondered how many of you before CC have been given a really silly diet to try and told "IT REALLY WORKS" and did you try it?

I'm new to this DIET!! thing so haven't tried any but I've known members of my family to try some silly things. One that springs to mind only because it should have a government health warning on it due to the after effects Yell is the cabbage diet....who ever thought that one up was really having a laugh...gas masks at the ready!!!!!

Feel free to fill your boots on this one it just for laughs Laughing

Wow that would put me off ice-cream for life....even with sprinkles! Wink  That guy who did "super size me" had more variety. Think I'll keep that one as a treat Smile.

That lemonade and maple syrup thing that Beoynce is supposed to have done is pretty high up there on the bizzare stakes....eeewwwww!

I haven't tried it, but I heard about the rainbow diet in high school and thought my teachers (who were discussing it) were dumb as hell.  And they were my health teachers at that.

I guess it's each day of the week you eat foods of a different colour.  So on Sunday you eat your weight's worth of red meat, Tuesday is creamsicles ('cause they're orange, you know?), Wednesday is lemonade, Thursday is salad, Friday is Booberry cereal, Saturday is grape popsicles.

Not sure if those are the actual foods, but if I had to come up with my own coloured stuff, I'd go that route.

Years ago I read in either the Star or Enquirer about a 3 day diet - first day - 3 bananas for breakfast, 3 bananas for lunch and 3 bananas for dinner - day 2 - 3 hotdogs for breakfast, 3 hotdogs for lunch  and 3 hotdogs for dinner - day 3 - 3 hard boiled eggs for breakfast, you got it - 3 for lunch and 3 for dinner.

Never did try it - You probably would lose weight because you are not eating that many calories, but still - disgusting!

Here's the actual rainbow diet, it's not terrible:

However there's an eating disordered version as well:

Well, I think the whole lemonade-cayenne pepper fast/diet thing is pretty out there.  While not completely bizarre, I still roll my eyes at things like the "Special K diet" - I'm still not sure why it's regarded as anything other than a ploy to sell more Special K products.

And the one that simultaneously made me roll my eyes and laugh is "The Hollywood Cookie Diet".  Yeah - a "plan" where you eat mostly cookies - but get this, they're nutritious cookies, and there are 3 different kinds for variety!   Uh huh...Undecided

I wonder if this link will spawn questions on the subject. Grins...

A bad diet plan I have heard of, that has not been mentioned is the 2468 diet.

I checked that out and I'm not surprised that it is locked that really is a crazy diet!!

Have you noticed nearly all of these fads contain mainly just one thing......why would folk think that you can survive on just cookies etc.....and they still keep coming.

I agree santonacci that special K is just to get their takings up they advertise it every spring over here....I like special K but only for breakfast and I usually add stuff to it.

one that used to be very popular over here was the Grapefruit and egg diet eeeekkkk that's all you live on......how silly is that?!!!!

Keep them coming Ann

Jell-o diets!  Yuck.  I'd feel like a permanent hospital patient!

This one is a spoof diet. After reading it you'll see why.

Don't try this at home kids! You'd have to be pretty thick to try it anyway! :-D

The vegetable soup diet...i mean, seriously? it claims that if you're on this diet for 3 weeks, you'll lose 21 pounds.  Mhmm...right.  That's a pound a day.  Plus, you really have to love vegetable soup to go for that, because for three meals a day I know that I'd get sick of it.
