funny revelation

Quote  |  Reply

So, I read that thread about having a small, med, or big frame, and I realized that I'm not exactly sure how tall I am. So, really, it's a stupid revelation not exactly funny haha. I've just been saying 5'2" for so long but maybe I'm 5'1"?

I guess the only way to really find out is to go to a doctor and have them measure me because self measuring just isn't working out all that well.

I hope I'm not shorter cause that changes my BMI a lot actually - ha!

(and I measured my wrist but it doesn't match up to the finger overlapping thing - but really i don't care about the size of my frame, - i'll worry about it i guess as i get closer to my goal weight)

To save yourself and the health care system a doctors visit for a height check... just go to any 711/walmart... ect  go to the front door, there will be a height chart on the wall. Have a friend, or the friendly walmart greeter read out to you your height,,, and voila!

you mean I have to step inside the evil empire that is wal-mart?!?!

(haha no i'm just kidding)

Or if you go to the gym,,, they may have an old fashioned  "beam" scale... the type where you move the weight as it balances. see link. there is a height attachment,... it is found at the back of the top of the scale..

Beware the scales with the height attachments like they have at the doctor's office and gyms.  They're not always calibrated properly.  My sister went to the doctor once and they measured her height, which has been 5'4" for many years now (well, probably closer to 5'3.5", but let her have her half inch).  They measured her at 5'2".  If you don't want to mark up your wall, tape a piece of paper to your wall at approximately your height, stand against the wall, and put something flat on top of your head and have someone mark off your height on the paper.  Then measure that with a tape measure.
