I ate a whole box of All Bran crackers today, yes a binge, a binge on healthy food, but not healthy enough for the binge to be healthy if you KWIM.  So I logged everything, I also had about 6 servings of veggies, and I had 70 g of fiber.  Think I'll be regular tommorrow?

Seriously though, the bingeing thing is creeping up on me.  What I've done to beat it is to join the biggest loser thing at the Y MCA today and I've given up candy and cookies, major binge issues, for Lent.  Now obviously those aren't my only binge foods, but hopefully this will help.

so my calorie total was 1920 for the day.  If I manage to not eat again, it's over by about 100.

holy crap (hehhee, sorry - i couldn't resist).
wait, 70 grams???  if you have to go to work, bring your office into the restroom. seriously.
that is so much fiber!
100 calories over ain't bad!  Beats binging on sugar.
I've went as high as 56 grams of fibre, but it didn't make me rush to the bathroom... hehe...
I routinely eat around 50-65 grams of fiber a day, and I've been fine. Hopefully you won't experience any ill effects...
You could get constipated if you are not used to that much fiber. Make sure you drink water. How fiber works is that it absorbs fluid and bulks up in your intestine. If you don't have enough fluid then the fiber can have the opposite effect.

I had some fo those crackers this weekend and they were tastey!
dude i had those crackers tonight/today! they are good.....  but 3 servings, plus carrots, and the whole thing of hummus, and the mini pita= 31 grams of fiber.

oh my tummy...... i avg 19 grams..... making me ill!!
Good point about the water, probably too late now, but I'll have some before I go to bed.  I average 25 g of fiber per day, mostly from fruits and veggies as I eat only 4 or 5 servings of carbs with meals.  I suppose I'll survive no matter what.

Those crackers are good!  It's amazing.  I'm thinking I can't buy them anymore, which is kind of sad since they'd be a great snack if I could stick to one or two servings.
I have a huge problem with fibre.  I eat way too much broccoli and whole wheat bread and bran flakes and various other fibre-rich food.

You can tell you're eating too much fibre when you start getting horrible gas all the time.  I wish there were healthy foods that fill you up but don't have as much fibre in them...
If the binge thing is getting your worried, what was your patern before the binge?  Did you eat enough prior to it?  Are you having regular meals during the day?  If not, try upping the frequency at which you eat.

Often times I have read that people who eat 3 meals a day will often binge at some point as their body is craving food and they just give in.

Make sure you are eating a good amount of protein too.  I think you are good with fiber hehe
Bigtwinky, that is a good point.  The binge started because lunch got put off.  Long story (dh is to blame here, blush) but I was pretty hungry and was prepping lunch for me and the kids and trying to get them ready for sled riding at the same time, so lunch didn't happen when it should have.  I started stuffing crackers in my mouth and it seemed that once I got started, I couldn't stop, even after I ate.  I might try adding an afternoon snack in, maybe that will help with other binge issues.  I usually dont' really need any food between lunch and dinnertime, but maybe I would benefit from a small snack like an apple or something.
Um, in response to the ppl shocked by such a 'high' fiber intake, I've gotten up to at least 120g, probably more, before and been fine. Granted, my typical daily intake is somewhere around 50g. I love fiber! (and yes, I am very regular!) =)
On a normal day I eat about 55g fiber, and I have bad constipation problems. I'd suggest you maybe take some mineral oil (you can get it at the drug store). That always helps me.
Seventy grams may be way more fiber than the average westerner eats in an average day but it's not way out of proportion to the amount that we should be eating for good health.

Have snacks is a great way to keep your metabolism going throughout the day.  If you can have your 3 meals + 2 snacks, and even an extra snack at night, that would be best.

Your body needs constant nourishment, not just 3 times a day.

And often, taking a step back and trying to figure out why we did something, how our habits changed, will help us avoid it in the future.
I sure hope you drank some water with that All Bran.  If it was me, I'd be in the bathroom for 24 hours.
I generally get about 50g of fiber a day too... so although 70g is a lot higher than your usual, it's not a horrible thing dietwise.

Time spent in the bathroom-wise... unless you drink a TON of water, it won't be such a pleasant thing!
My concern wasn't with how much fibre I ate as much as the fact that I gorged myself with a box of crackers if that makes any sense.

And sadly, today I had a stomach virus, so no issues from the fiber and not having enough water, quite the opposite, yuck.  I actually drink a ton of water just naturally, I always have since I was a child.   So it's likely that that wouldn't have been an issue anyway.  I love water, filtered now, I'm spoiled.
