Gah, birthday party calories

Quote  |  Reply

I was doing really well on this site, keeping my calories around 1400 and if I was splurging, making sure to keep them under the amount of I have burned.

So, of course I started a diet with my birthday coming up.  I did really bad yesterday, tea house lunch, chicken fingers for dinner, SIX fruity drinks, and then beef tacos to round it all off.  I counted it as 3,500.

Not really looking for advice, just felt like confessing!

Oh well, back to being good :)

Your birthday comes but once a year. (Ditto other holidays and special times spent with your family...) Do you have to be cognisant of what you're ingesting? Of course. Should you beat yourself up for enjoying a special day? NEVER!

Just make sure you jump right back in there once the festivities are over and I PROMISE you you will NOT derail all of your hard work!

thanks for the encouragement!!

So to be technical if you burned 0 calories yesterday you'd gain a pound. The scale may say more but that's water weight, and comes off easy.

One bad day doesn't set you back really, it's letting that day become a habit which you don't seem like you'd let that happen.

Tea House lunch? Surprised

Happy birthday Mlkessler!  I can relate to your need to confess.  I am turning the dreaded 40 tomorrow and have a special dinner planned on Saturday.  I will be having delicious roast chicken (I will remove the skin if I am feeling virtuous) with roast potatoes and steamed vegetables followed by a decadent lemon souffle.

My daughter is making me a birthday cake and as chocolate is her favourite, I suspect that is what I will be getting!

I know I will blow my calories on that day but I will only turn 40 once.

Happy Birthday!  My birthday is this weekend...I'm spending it at the beach with a lot of food and a lot of wine.  Not even going to count calories!!

I forgot to mention a few glasses of good red wine.  I agree Cheshirekitty, lets not count calories and enjoy!

I did something similar on my birthday 2 weeks ago....I let it go on for a full 6 days (the leftover cake/cookies, celebrating with too many people too many days). If you limited it to one day, bravo to you.
