So I've been in a pretty happy mood recently(for a while compared to most often) and staying optimistic(like how I don't seem to be losing any weight but I believe its just water retention and not enough fibre which I'm fixing) but now I'm just in a sad lonely mood. Like really sad and lonely, havent felt this bad for a while. Usually its just a slight tug but now is blown out and yea...yea :(

besides drinking (which as a college student seems to help relieve some of the stress haha) watch a great movie with some tea. Pamper yourself. That sounds completely lame, however it helps me get out of my funks I so throughly find myself in sometimes.

1) Watch "Breakfast at Tiffanys" or any other amazing Audrey Hepburn movie with some super hot tea and a some bit of chocolate or anything else equally delicious.

2) Exercise. Feel good about yourself and your body will burning some cals.

3)Talk or hang out with someone funny. Good spirits.

4)Surf the web for random things. ex: Weird news, random funniness, or whatever you have always wanted to know. After that you will have learned a fact no matter how simple.

5) Stay away from the kitchen at all costs. Lock yourself in your room. Being sad=Pity Eating. Something that has basically taken me hostage after a bad test last semester. However, I am in full recovery.

Best of luck. If all else fails.....just Google a bit.

You may want to look at your diet and the food you are eating.  Maybe write it down.  i kept a log for awhile of the foods I ate and how I felt after and I noticed after eating certain foods especially with high sodium I felt fatigued and depressed.

My nutritionist noticed it since I was pretty much eating the same things everyday with very little variations while I was dieting.  (which at the time I would lose 5, gain 3 the next week)  You will be amazed if you actually keep a log that certain foods do effect your mood!

Just a suggestion--we all have our fav foods we may eat daily and its worth looking into!

I just checked... the OP is male. Not to be sexist, but I've known few men who'd be cheered up by Holly Golightly Wink

When I get that sad and lonely feeling (which is often).  I go shopping.  Even if I don't have money to buy anything.  I just find being out around other people helps and I usually end up running into someone I know.

If it happens a lot.  like you notice a pattern you might what to try some anti depressants or mood stabilizers.  They help a lot more then jack, since liquor is a depressant and just makes things worse.

Well, watch a good movie with Gene Kelly or Clark Gable, or something equally masculine. Oh I just saw Gran Torino. That was AMAZING!
