I've been doing a lot of research and I think I've been eatin for to few calories for how much I workout out. I'm in college so I walk everywhere, plus I work out intensely for anywhere from an hour minimum to 1.5 hours 6 days a week. I run about 25 miles a week (thats included in that hour to 1.5 hours a day) plus spinning and weights 3 times a week.
So i've been takin in about 1500 to 1800 calories at 5'7 and i've been maintaining at about 113. So the past couple days Ive been readin and whatnot, finding out I shoud be at least 2000 and some websites even say 2500!! so the past two days were 2000 calories and 2400 calories, now im 117lbs.... what gives! I just want to be like 115lbs. ughhh is this just temporary while my body gets used to the jump?
how about at 113 pounds, your bmi is 17.7, underweight, go figure. so when you eat how much you're supposed to your body is going to cling to it because you've been starving through a combination of decreased calories and too much exercise. your healthy weight 119-159, and you're freaking out before you have even entered the healthy zone. you have nothing to worry about and should continue to consume the recommended amount until your weight stabilizes, when it is appropriate the weight gain will stop, but forcing your body into a mold that isn't where it naturally wants to be is only going to result in damage to your metabolism, overtraining, and/or malnutrition. so eat, and once you're in a healthy weight range then focus on what you can do to maintain that weight because as of yet, you should not have maintenance as your focus, but instead gaining.
I try to update my profile once a month. try these website and see if they help. I find both to be very informative, Hope this helps.
It really depends on what you're eating! If you're eating junk food to FILL the calorie void.... then you probably gained weight and it will stay there, but if you're eating lean proteins, fresh veggies & fruits & healthy fats then you probably put on some muscle from all the exercise you do - which is wonderful! Also.... body weight fluctuates on a daily basis - you could have had a little too much sodium the night before you weighed in at 117! Don't freak out, you'll be perfectly fine, I promise! :)
