I have been back in school for three weeks after a three month summer break and the stress of tests and studying is killing me already. Do yo gain weight when you are stress because you eat more or lose weight more weight. I have maintained the same weight for about four months at 110

Stress is a common cause of gaining weight. Reducing stress makes it tons easier to lose weight.
I totally gain weight. We started a business a couple years ago and I gained 1/2 lb a week for the next 18 months (40 lbs)! Of course, we were so busy that we ate a ton of takeout. My DH didn't gain or lose... just me. Thankfully, we sold the business and I am working on taking off the excess poundage.
depend on the type of stress... usually I lose, because I either have no time to eat or I am stressed because of a bad event, which kills my appetite. Depends on the person though.
I am a functional non-eater so in times of stress, I definitely lose weight.
I've told my husband he's not allowed to die b/c I can't imagine anything more stressful than losing him--I'd probably starve to death.

Gain! No doubt about it. I eat when I'm unhappy, and I eat a lot. I binge, too, and stop working out because the binging makes my stomach feel so ill.
lose. my dad and i both get the same way- we get stressed out to the point where we're physically ill/nauseous. even looking at food is hard when i get really worked up about something, but usually it's just mild enough to make food seem a bit unappetising. but my mom and sister both eat when they're stressed.
well I stress all the time... and I'm overweight.. so my vote is for gain.
Lose & at an alarming pace. When we had a family emergency last year, I lost about 10 lbs by accident. That was with the usual eating habits. My metabolism seemingly doubled & burned everything immediately. Same thing happened senior year of high school. My dad has the same tendency. A bit phrase in my family: "stop pacing! you'll burn too many calories". Aphoristic, indeed, but maybe a bit true.
