I'm 6'1" 160 lbs and I want to put on around 10 lbs of muscle this year. This past year I lost 25 lbs and got down to about 10 percent body fat. My question is how can I put on this muscle without giving up the gains made last year.
I lift 3x per week for an hour and follow it up with about 20 minutes of cardio I also do just cardio 3x per week and take
1 day off. My calorie intake is around 2200 per day but I dont get nearly enough protien and way to much carbs and fat. Any help with a lifting regimin or dietary advice would be helpful.

Hi dennis58 and welcome to the Calorie-Count.com forums.
Firstly I would suggest cutting back on the carbs and fat. Try cooking lean high-protein meals such as steamed vegetables, boiled skinless chicken breast, and brown rice. Perhaps lemon pepper if you like the taste instead of butter.
Do you take protein supplements? These can make a HUGE difference. If you are interested in learning more please visit our Nutrifind Nutritional Store

I agree with my friend Erik. Protein supplements are a must if you want to gain muscle. I worked out a long time without any results till I started supplmenting with protein in the morning and after working out. It makes a huge difference.
Creatine can help as well for building muscle mass. Just don't buy the pre-mix as those generally contain sugar. Creatine monohydrate works well when mixed with your protein shake at the end of every workout.
Also - don't worry about giving up last year's gains. You may initially gain weight when putting on muscle - that's normal, but it doesn't mean you're getting fat. And every pound of muscle you put on will burn an additional 50 calories a day just by being there.
