Please help! Every time I try to eat healthy, I end up gaining weight. I gain weight on 900 calories a day and I have no idea why. I really want to lose weight but I don’t know what to eat or do.
Answer
It seems like you gain easily because your body is defending your present weight. From your information behind the scenes, I see that your BMI (Body Mass Index) is only 20 and so you don’t need to lose. You actually require 1900 calories a day distributed across the food groups like this:
- 2 cups of fruit
- 2.5 cups of vegetables
- 6 ounces of grains
- 5 ounces of meat or beans
- 3 cups of dairy products
- 5 teaspoons of oil
- 150 calories to spend as you wish
