Gain weight during college? Get it off NOW~!
I'm trying to get to my goal weight by May 22, 2008, my college graduation and summer weight loss goal... looking for people to do the same, people who need motivation, someone to talk to and who are willing to give the next 3-4 months and devote that time to themselves!
I am so ready to get rid of the weight I put on during college (started around 145, and at that time wanted to lose about 10 lbs) but now weigh 167, the heaviest I've ever been. If you are too, join this challenge, and let's do this together... if you are also graduating, congrats, that day is going to come soon, and those pictures are memories to last a lifetime, let's look great in them!!!

Most inspring quote found today:
"No food tastes as good as losing weight feels"
I'm not taking credit for the quote, so whoever said it first, thanks for the inspiration! :)
Have a great day, good luck, and lets DO this!!!
Hey I would love to join- I am a college sophomore, and when I got to college I weighed 151, with hopes of being 135 and I currently hover around 160. I am going abroad in the fall, and I not only do I want to look and feel really good when I go to Europe for the first time, but I want to have a great time this summer at the beach feeling confident in myself! I also really want to get into great shape with definite muscle tone while reaching my goal weight of 135.
I'm excited! Great idea for a challenge!

Happy about the responses! We all so far have a similar amount of weight to lose it seems, which is good. I've been to the gym the last two days in a row, and am feeling pretty good- been eating good, salads, low on carbs, being pretty good, and I hope you have been too!
Couple things- I've been weighing myself everyday and although the scale has actually been going down a little, its more like water weight probably not actual fat. I am wondering- how often do u weigh urself or want to weigh urself? I keep thinking I want to know where I'm at and if it keeps going down, or at least stays the same, I'm going to be more motivated to work out and feel even better the next day!
I think even if we weigh ourselves every day or every other or whatever, maybe Monday mornings would be a good weigh in day for our group- that way we stay inspired all weekend long :)
How does that sound???
Also, not sure if anyone has been doing this or something like this, but I used to do the elliptical machine for at least 30 minutes everytime I worked out--- found myself just kind of plugging miles, being bored and just getting to a certain time... I've read and heard that switching up your cardio routine is key to keeping your body guessing and therefore losing more and toning in different places.. so yesterday, I did 10 minutes each on stairs, elliptical, and spin bike... today I did spin bike and gazelle like machine for 15 each.... does anyone do this? interested in doing this? what are your workout routines like or is everyone strictly counting cals?
I have to admit... I'm not counting cals, but I am being very conscious about what I'm eating... I counted last summer and I may have lost a few pounds, but I went a little crazy doing it because I was stressing so much about everything and it was making me miserable. Right now, I'm focusing on losing my 27 lbs, getting from 167 to 140 and by May 22. However that is possible, by eating grilled chicken, salads, fish and veggies with the occassional sandwich with bread or some potatoes, well I think that's pretty good if I'm going to the gym hardcore too! :)
Where's everyone from? Wilson and Spirit- where and when did you become friends?
Hope everyone is having a great day!!!
I'm actually working on doing the opposite right now! I've already lost 50lbs since July of last year, and I'm hoping to lose over 70 more. I still have the rest of this semester then a year of another program until I'm done!
You guys will be able to do it, I know you can. ![]()

i took pics of myself on feb 4th, today being march 15th i have been working out almost 5 days a week, minumum 4, and i really do see a difference... i have dropped one pants/skirt size and am feeling sooo much more toned....
one thing im noticing is my weight number is not going down very much... im starting to notice that maybe my ultimate goal weight of 140 @ 5'9 1/2" is too low... not unreachable, just generally too low... i think i look pretty good and im at 160-163 depending on water etc..
any one else notice this ever?
