how much have you gained?
i am almost 9 weeks and i have put on .5lb so far. how about you??
I am 30 weeks 5 days and have gained about 14-15 pounds. Not bad so far. I gained 19lbs all together with my first pregnancy. I will probably be about the same with this one.
I am 32 weeks pregnant (tomorrow) and have gained 27 pounds so far. Ugh. I've really tried to watch my weight gain but no matter how well I eat, I just keep packing on the pounds!

Oye! What I wouldn't give to trade metabolism with you!
I have tried to maintain a workout regimine similair to pre-pregnancy with modifications. I had to stop running, but picked up bike riding instead. Plus, I am always on the go with my daughter's summer activities and being on my feet at school. 27 is not bad! You are right where you should be. 25-35 pounds at delivery is not excessive. No worries.
I, too, have maintained an activity level like that of my pre-pregnancy. I don't get to the gym much anymore (we moved and unpacking takes up a lot of free time!) but I do aerobic yoga and salsa at home, swim a couple times a week and do a ton of yard work. I have gained just over 1/3 of what I did with my first pregnancy so that's my consolation. ![]()
I am 23 weeks tomorrow and have managed 28 pounds even with the extreme sickness and food aversions! I guess that is what a "toast and eggo" diet does to a girl :(
Now that I'm feeling better, I'm eating better - mostly. And I've started tracking calories again. So I hope to keep the gain to 0.5 to 1 pounds per week for the next 17 weeks. I'll still be looking at a 40 to 50 pound weight gain, but hopefully I'll stay healthy and can work it off post-baby.
Bier- I definitely think you are doing better this time. 1/3, really?!!
Sunquest- Glad you were able to get back on track. I am sure the toast and eggo's couldn't have been doing too much good for your body! LOL! ![]()
I gained 47 lbs total with my first baby, and close to 55lbs with my second!! I worked out, ate healthy, and did not have gestational diabetes. My first was 9lbs 6.6 oz, and my second was 10lbs 3.3 oz, so I guess that's where all the weight went!
Both times I was able to get back to with in 10lbs of my pre-preggers weight roughly a year. Good luck, and Congrats on the babies, ladies!

Yes, indeed. Well, almost. Once I started keeping track of my weight gain the first time around, I gained 70 pounds. I was also underweight beforehand (not that it's an excuse!) so it didn't look like I gained that much. I lost 30 pounds without even trying the first 2 weeks postpartum so hopefully that happens again this time around!
I'll cross my fingers for you. Usually, your body follows suit with the first pregnancy. You probably will lose a lot quickly. I lost more than I gained the first time around, but soon realized it was more muscle loss than anything. I looked worse and it was harder to get back in shape. This time, I am maintaining muscle and hoping it is an easier recovery for my body.
I am 18 1/2 weeks along and I have gained 7.4 lbs
I'm 23 weeks today and have gained 22 pounds so far, it's a ton of weight considering I was at 0 gain until about 16 weeks. But no matter how much I watch what i'm eating and only eat good food I still gain like 1.5-2 lbs a week. I'm really freaked out that I'm going to end up gaining 40+ lbs with this baby and never loose it.
Had my 32 week appointment today and actually lost a pound in the last 8 weeks. I'm still right on with measurements though. No concerns. Total gain so far...16-17 lbs. 8 weeks left! ![]()
I had my 24 week appointment with a different OB (covering for mine). He was concerned enough to mention my weight before I did. I have gained over 35lbs so far. His suggestion was to cut out white things: potato, bread, rice, refined sugar. To eat a small amount of protein with every meal and only eat veggies that grow above ground. I'll do my best to restrict white stuff, and try to eat more protein, but I can't give up carrots. I am SO hungry!
That's crazy. Eat a healthy dose of FRESH fruits, veggies and lean protiens and watch the carbs you consume. Avoid white bread, buns, sugary foods (keep an eye on bread choices and cereals), fast foods and obviously sweets. When you choose carbs, make them whole grain and look for 4 grams or less of sugar per serving. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water as well.
You'll be fine. Oh, and eat ALL the carrots you want!!!!!! LOL!
5'4 and 128lbs.. I am 27.5 weeks prego and have gained around 10lbs. Third trimester just started so I assume the weight gain does, as well. I assume it'll be another ten poulds at least. Dr. doesn't seem concerned, so.. that's great. ;) It's been very hard work, though.. don't get me wrong..!!!! Working out 4-5 days a week and 2,300 cals a day being prego.. self control isn't easy.. but.. still truckin'... as long as i let meself indulge here and there in a naughty treat or give myself 100 cals more a day here and there.. it's not so bad. PORTION CONTROL is oober important, too!!
I am the next. 5 weeks to go and she is already on my nerves...my sciatic nerve that is. LOL! ![]()
Anyway, i am 5,3 and 133 so far....
