Gained 10lbs during a 3 day binge.
Can someone help as to what I should do? I went on a 3-4 day binge. AND before anyone jumps on the water weight bandwagon, YES, I literally consumed between 35k-40k calories. My stomach is still distended about 10 extra inches and the muscles in my abdomen hurt from being stretched under all of the pressure. I literally have seen the size of my butt and thighs and well, everything else grow in just a few days. I didn't even know this was possible, but I guess it is. How can I undo this damage? Will it really take a month of hard core dieting to lose weight from overeating just one weekend? I'm kind of freaking out. My boyfriend hasn't seen me since then & it will be weird to see a completely different person (I was already up 8lbs). No, I don't have body image issues, I'm just shocked at the physical difference. I can't believe my skin didn't rip. When will this horrible bloat go away? My entire body hurts because I am so swollen. Will diuretics or laxatives help? How do I explain the very sudden and dramatic weight gain without telling him I was binging for several days straight?
Reason: Moved from WL to H&S forum
how did you eat 40,000 calories in 3 days? I didn't think that was possible, that's like 13,333 calories a day. If you really did eat 35000 to 40000 calories then yes it will take about a month to undo that. Generally binges are like 1000-2000 calories over for the day, not 10 times that.
First of all, if you really consumed upwards of 10,000 calories per day, your body probably went into a hypermetabolic state because it was such a shock, meaning its highly unlikely that all of the extra weight you have right now is actually fat. If you only "gained" 10 pounds from that, a few of the pounds is DEFINITELY the food that is still in your digestive tract, and also partly water weight.
There's no doubt that you did gain fat though. Probably only a couple pounds though. go back to eating normally, try to limit salt though and drink lots of water.
Secondly, I think you need to seriously asses what caused you such a self-destructive binge!? That is very dangerous for your body. Are you underweight or been restricting calories too severely? These are the main causes for people to binge on such a severe level.
Be very careful, you only get one body! Good luck
Hmmm...I wonder if the body can go into shock from mass food consumption??? Google.... Anyways. Thanks. It's been a few days of very light eating and exercise and the weight is staying. I could detail what I ate, but I'm confident that I had 10,000+ calories a day. I mean, heck, a box of brownies is 4,000 by itself. An entire bag a tortilla chips 2,240. A box of pasta, a can of sauce, a lb of ground turkey, 3 Tbsp oil is about 3,000. Yep, definitely over 10,000...maybe even more. No, I don't restrict calories at all and am, well *was*, a very healthy weight and don't believe in depriving myself of anything. This was purely stress....I've been going through some serious financial issues and stress due to a joke of a job and a car that breaks down several times a day. I wish this economy would hurry up and get better so I can make more money. I haven't had any luck finding a second job, not even fast food. I would work 80 hours a week if I could, I just can't find anything. I knew I should have been like all the smart girls and married for security and $$$$$$.........joking. Next time...I'm going to drop everything, throw on my tennies and go for a jog. Nothing instantly snaps me out of a mood like a serious workout.

3 Tbsp oil is about 3,000.
Hope that's a typo
It's more like 400. The best healer is 'time'.. and that applies to economies as well as people who eat entire boxes of brownies. Find something else to do to help you with stress and maybe think about how you're lucky to have a job when so many people don't even have that.
i think she was referring to the : box of pasta, the lb of ground turkey, the can of sauce and the 3 tablespoons of oil as being about 3000.... its more like 2750!
I definitely know what you are talking about. I watch what I eat all week long and then I binge on the weekends. I know that I have gone WAY over my calories (to the tune of what you are talking about). I eat everything I see! I have "gained" ten pounds in three days before as well and as soon as I start watching what I eat again. It comes right off. It has a lot to do with the food still in your system which is why your stomach is still stretched out so far. I wouldn't try using laxatives or anything like that. Just get back on track and you will go right back to where you were. It will take a few days, but it will get better. Trust me, I know how you feel!!!!
As with any lose you can't lose it overnight and sadly your 3-4 days of bingeing has probably cost you around 3-4 weeks of hard work to lose it.
I personally can't even make 2,500 cals when I have a binge once in a blue moon let alone consider 10,000, how on earth did you achieve that?
Just go back to the routine you know works and remember this clearly for next time you are tempted to binge even for one day lol
