gained 5lbs in 6 days on NROLFW
Is this normal?!?! I started NROLFW last saturday and have shot up 5lbs since then. It's really discouraging! I'm trying to eat on a deficit while doing it, but i'm finding it very difficult. I was OK for the first few days, but the last 2 days I've been eating 6 or 7 times a day cuz I'm so hungry.
Someone please tell me this is normal and I'll be fine lol I was so happy to see the 140's and now that I'm creeping back towards the 150s I'm not a happy camper.
not possible to put on 5lbs of fat or muscle in 6 days lol![]()
water weight/ ttom?
make sure ur weighing in the morning, first thing, butt neked not even having had a glass of water. and Relax ![]()
It sounds like your muscles are retaining water. Stick with it. Don't worry. You should see your weight drop back down (and then some) within a couple weeks.
I wouldn't worry about it. I always gain after doing one of the NROWL workouts. I'm also on steroids for breathing problems ( allergies, COPD, Emphysema) and haven't gained 5 lbs of muscle in a week. Its just water retention
Also I am not bulky even with the roids!
that is exactly what happened to me. I am not following the NRLFW but another routine. my muscles just retained water for a week or so and now my weight just dropped 3 or 4 pounds in ten days. That is just water retention. give it a time.
What is NRLFW?
New Rules of Lifting for Women. A book with a good strength training program.
zhodes, this is totally normal. Your muscles are retaining water in response to the change in exercise program. I gained about five pounds of water weight when I started NROLFW, it stuck around for 3-4 weeks (though I saw some fat loss through the water weight) then all of a sudden dropped off again. I also lost several inches off hips/waist/thighs/chest(back fat!) and am very happy with the overall results. It just takes a bit of patience.

So you can log your weight -- which allows you to do the following:
- Plot your weight curve
- Analyze the trend of your weight (see under Recent in the figure above)
- Determine the projected target date (see under Overall in the figure above)
